You won't hear the word 'staff' uttered around our office 🚫 and that's because we have been, and always will be a team. ✅ We are firm believers that when you invest in your team and when they're at their best, we collectively perform at our best. Aside from your stock standard Christmas parties and birthday celebrations, you will often see the team’s calendar peppered with lunches, croissant days and even crew dinners at Han's house. 🤩 When it comes to learning and development - management identifies training courses to complete together (1-2 per quarter), however, self-driven learning is where the magic happens. The team is given the opportunity to bring forward any courses they want to complete, supported by our very own #MediaMortar library of marketing books. We're realists and know our team won't feel inspired every day, which is why we have several methods to remain motivated: ⚡ Morning 'Thunderbolts' - first up meeting to share priorities for the day 💪 Friday team 'Huddle' - sharing of wins for the week, alongside discovered cool content 🔔 The Golden Bell - think Selling Sunset, which we ring for team wins 🏅 Employee of the Quarter - celebrating an employee who has given their all 💸 Referral programs - where anyone who refers an intern or permanent team member to the business is rewarded with a voucher We're interested in how you keep your team motivated? Do you have certain structures for your meetings or regular events? Start the conversation below. 👇 #ContentMarketing #TeamBuilding #Management

Feeling stuck & unmotivated? Not anymore! I help you fall unapologetically in love with your 9 to 5.
💩 Only read if you've had a bad week at work... 💩 If you’ve had a bad week, I’m really hoping this will help you by me sharing some of the dumbest stuff I have ever done in work 🤦♀️ At least then maybe, you can leave your work week in the past & hopefully have a little giggle at my expense! I’m slightly mortified I’m actually sharing this with you, documented, in writing… So, here goes nothing! 1️⃣ I once sent an email to a relatively Senior Director at work (instead of my friend) calling them a tw*t. Literally all the email said it was “TW*T.” 2️⃣ I sent a DM message bitching about a work colleague, TO THE COLLEAGUE, I was bitching about. The person hadn’t read it by the time I had realised what I had done and then I had to stand by their desk, AS THEY READ THE DM. 3️⃣ I reminded a client quite firmly & completely not tactfully, one time about all the free work we had done for them when they were trying to get more work at a heavy discount. To say they gave me a b*llocking is an understatement. The silent treatment from my manager on the car journey back to the office was the cherry on top. I hadn’t heard of saying “The customer’s always right” at the time. 4️⃣ I received a £250 voucher for excelling in a certain job & I responded to HR saying “I think they’ve messed up, I don’t think this is for me.” Low confidence much? 😳 5️⃣ I was in the midst of being at risk of redundancy and I shouted “What do you want from me?” via Zoom at my manager. There was ugly tears too. BONUS 6️⃣: I was kicked out of University halls in my first year of Uni for stealing a statue. Nope. My parents still haven’t forgiven me 🙊 We all have crappy weeks & we all do dumb things, I always like to think it’s part of being human! So, I would like to take this moment to welcome you to the club! There’s 8 billion of us! #careeradvice #dreamjob #jobsearch #careers #careerdevelopment #careercoach #careercoaching

Is there a NEW colleague joining your team Monday? ❤️ First impressions matter, especially at work. If you have a new starter next week, make sure their first day is a GOOD one! It will boost productivity, engagement, and motivation but most importantly, it helps them feel like part of the team. This is why it matters: 🔑 A clear and structured induction helps new hires quickly understand their role and learn company processes. 🤝 Introducing new staff to their team fosters connections and collaboration. 📈 Positive first-day experiences lead to higher motivation and job satisfaction. To make the most of this opportunity, consider these strategies 👇 🥂 Personal Touch: A welcome note or team lunch goes a long way. 💻 Prepare the Workspace: Ensure their desk and tools are ready. 👫 Assign a Mentor: A go-to person can guide them through their first weeks. The goal is to make new employees feel valued and ready to succeed, not overwhelmed. Investing in a great start leads to loyal, productive team members who will enhance your company's reputation. #FirstDayExperience #EmployeeEngagement #OnboardingSuccess

Exploring the Unexplored | Accenturite | Ex- Shoppers Stop & Pinkvilla | People Experience & Relations | Employee Life Cycle Management | Author - The Beguiling Verses
Throughout my college days, I used to hear a term predominantly from my acquaintances - "𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗱." (from the corporate standpoint of course 😁) For some it was exhilarating while others couldn't make the best out of it. Some pushed me to relish it, while many guided me to take it as serious as possible. And it used to keep me confused till I started my own corporate journey. While we all know about this phase post joining an organisation, here's how you an make the best out of it: ➡️ Take your training sessions as a platform for building meaningful professional relationships rather than than just taking them as the process of knowledge transfer. ➡️ Have a nice rapport with your trainer from learning standpoint, understanding and execution of the process and organisational dynamics. ➡️ Leverage your bandwidth post training sessions to interact with your team. ➡️ Communicate with your fellow joiners to understand their past work experience and have an exchange of ideas. ➡️ Try to make healthy cross-functional rapports. ➡️ Understand the company hierarchy and don't just stay confined to learn about the work at your career level. Try to know what your juniors, seniors or managers do. ➡️ Spend time with the people working on real time basis and figure out how the things being taught in the training sessions are actually implemented on day-to-day basis. ➡️ Find time for everyday self revision of the session for a better grip over the process. ➡️ Make your own notes apart from the training modules and material that is provided. This comes handy while preparing for post training assessments. ➡️ Extend your support during the leisure hours to your colleagues for the non-process activities. ➡️ A nice office tour to explore lounge area, cafeteria, clinic, gymnasium, technical and general employee support desk during the initial days is never a bad idea and remains on top of the to-do list of all new joiners. ➡️ Lastly, try to get accustomed to the company culture and your team's environment. P.S. - How was your honeymoon phase with your organization? Keep adding to the list and let's keep the forum broad for exchanging the ideas.

Company Summer Fun Days - what does it ultimately say about you and your organisation? It’s such an easy event to ignore, when we are all so busy hitting targets, but having run these events for over 25 years, I’d argue they are one of the most important. It’s not just about rewarding your staff, it’s about creating an environment where people can relax, staff can communicate openly and management can take the temperature of the company. A lot more is discussed when people are relaxed and feel engaged. It’s not just about how people are feeling, but it’s about exploring ideas and seeing your co-workers in a fresh new way. Ultimately, we all share the same basic objectives to have purpose, to look after those we love, pay our bills and have time out. #corporatefunday #companyfunday #staffengagement #teamreward #staffactivity #eventplanner #eventprofs

Wowzers! It’s been a whirlwind few weeks. I am working on projects that I know have the potential to unlock greatness in our store colleague population. But these things take time ⏰ Whilst they are taking shape I was able to revisit my facilitation roots last week! 🌱 I don’t facilitate as often as I used to and I was reminded of the joy it brings me to take a group of people on a journey. To facilitate their discussion and learnings is always so rewarding 💚 So what was the occasion I hear you ask ❓ Last week saw us launch our FIRST EVER Immersion Event for new colleagues joining our Retail Op’s and Property teams. 🙌 This day forms an important part of their induction. We believe knowledge is power and in a business as vast as ours it really helps to know Who’s Who and the work they do. 💡 We could have just given them structure charts and team profiles. But instead we bought the work to life. It was an opportunity for discussion, questions, and connection. 🤗 The human element of this day was so integral to its success. 100% of the attendees and the guest speakers would recommend it to a new starter! 🥳 Not bad! But we AIM HIGHER! And so the iteration begins ready for the next Event in August. 💥 Setting up colleagues for success isn’t a privilege. It is absolutely fundamental! 🙌 Fancy working for a business that takes your experience and development seriously? Here you are! Day 2 of essential tips for Assistants to step up your game and advance your career! Yesterday we talked about seeking involvement. This is about YOU raising your hand and volunteering to be on calls or in meetings, or for a project that excites you. This is not about waiting for others to invite you in, but rather you taking the initiative to walk through the door yourself. Now, what do we do? We engage. ✅ Being a human presence in a meeting or on a call is one thing. Being an active participant is another. Make sure you have read the agenda, you know the other participants involved, you understand the nuances of the topic(s) at hand, and you’ve prepared a few questions ahead of time. It only takes a few moments to prepare, but could potentially change the way people view you and your position. ✅ Assistants are usually moving too fast to read what comes across their desks, but that may just be the ultimate ticket to career advancement! We have the choice on whether to be an information pusher or an information absorber. When we seek to understand the content deeply, we can use it to connect the dots on people, projects, and tasks. Three more days of up-leveling! What do you think of Day 2? #ExecutiveAssistants #StrategicThinking #ProactiveApproach #BusinessInnovation #ForwardThinking #AskQuestions #UnderstandTheBigPicture #WorkplaceEfficiency #AnticipatoryActions #CompanyGrowth #CommunicationSkills #TeamCollaboration #ProfessionalDevelopment #LeadershipSkills #EmpoweringEAs #MoniqueSpeaks #MoniqueHelstrom

Community Outreach Coordinator at Catholic Charities | Driving Social Change Through Community Outreach and Fostering Positive Culture | Leveraging Education Expertise to Connect & Engage | Together We Can Do So Much
This #MotivationMonday, I'm feeling energized and ready to tackle the week! The key? I spent some quality time with my volunteer services team, deepening our connections to each other and our work. Here's why connecting with colleagues is a major motivator: ❣ Shared Passion: Spending extra time with my volunteer team reminded me just how much I enjoy working alongside colleagues who share my passions. This translates into a stronger drive to succeed at work! 👭 The Power of "We": We spend a significant portion of our lives with the people we work with. Building strong relationships in the workplace fosters a positive and productive environment. Fuel Your #MotivationMonday: This week, take a moment to connect with a colleague! Here's an idea to get you started: Grab coffee or lunch: Schedule some casual one-on-one time to get to know each other better. Simply ask them one question about themselves that's not work related, like what is one thing they are going to do for themselves this week! What are your favorite ways to connect with colleagues? Share your tips and experiences in the comments below!

This WILL give you a different perspective on work I am 99% certain EVERYONE on LinkedIN who has worked in an office can relate. The work microwave. As grimy as it can be, without it 90% of us would either starve at lunch time or splurge on meal deals across the week (the price is getting more and more ridiculous everyday but I digress…). Whether you’re a CEO, Apprentice, Manager, or contractor the majority of us share the same spaces. Amidst the deadlines and stress we can forget that, regardless of where we are in our careers, there are paralleled experiences that we share day to day whether we realise it or not.

Organizational & Cross-Cultural Psychologist at Brandeis; 3x Book Author: Global Dexterity, Reach, Forging Bonds in a Global Workforce
🌐 Week 4 - Where does relationship building typically take place? 🌐 Back in my early twenties, as an intern at a French consulting firm, I encountered a striking cultural contrast. The office was quiet and formal during work hours, a stark difference from the more casual American workplaces I was used to. But come lunchtime, the atmosphere transformed. The whole office would head to the cafeteria for a leisurely meal complete with wine and dessert. This was where the real bonding happened – colleagues sharing personal stories, something that never occurred at their desks. Yet, once lunch ended, everyone reverted to their formal, work-focused selves. This experience was my first brush with what I later learned is a "separation" culture, where work and personal interactions are distinctly compartmentalized. 🤔 Your Challenge: Are there particular places where professional relationships tend to be built in your culture? 📖 Explore the rich tapestry of 'Place’' in workplace relationships across cultures in “Forging Bonds in a Global Workforce”. Learn to recognize and adapt to varying relationship dynamics around the world. https://bit.ly/3OTrre0 #GlobalWorkforce #CulturalIntelligence #RelationshipBuilding #ProfessionalGrowth #BookRecommendation

Just because it comes easily to you, does not make that skill any less valuable to others. In fact, noticing that a skill comes easily to you is usually the first sign that you should **do more of that** So many of us have been taught that the only work worth doing is the work that's **hard** That's the work to be proud of, that's the work we "deserve" to get paid for, that's the work that's marketable. But what if we paid more attention to what we're really good at – and did more of **that**? What if we recognized and appreciated our ease as a gift, and worked to find ways to leverage it? What if we noticed what work we find energizing and engaging, and spent more time digging into the connection between *that* work and the contributions we can make in the workplace? We might find ourselves feeling more aligned, more connected to purpose, and energized – rather than depleted – at the end of the day. As we start another work week, consider this challenge: what comes easily to you? Or to make it even sharper: where are you discounting your contributions just because it doesn't feel "hard"? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
