Happy Earth Day 💚 Today we are reflecting on the use of single use plastics and how they can be detrimental to our environment and wildlife. 🌏 From a simple swap of your weekly plastic of bottles of water from the supermarket, to using a filtering system at home to prepare clean water everyday can make a significant difference. 🌏 Many restaurants and pubs now use paper, recyclable straws to reduce their plastic use, are you doing the same at home? 🌏 Where possible, continue to re-use your bags for shopping. Nowadays, most supermarket bags are recyclable, but be sure to pack a couple of them in your boot for next time! At Media Street, we pride ourselves in limiting plastic usage as much as possible. Plastic free July Did you know that it takes about 500 years for the average-sized plastic water bottle to decompose and about 1,000 years for plastic grocery sacks to degrade. Judging by the label on this bottle that was picked up today, it's 21 years old! So "only" 479 years left. Reusable water bottles can be used over and over again, making them a great alternative to plastic bottles without adding to environmental stressors.
