𝟏𝟎𝐚𝐦: 𝐈𝐁𝐃𝐅 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝟏𝟎𝟎𝐌𝐇𝐳 𝐨𝐟 𝟑,𝟕𝟎𝟎-𝟑,𝟖𝟎𝟎𝐌𝐇𝐳 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟓𝐆 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 Indian Broadcasting and Digital Foundation on behalf of the Indian broadcasters have written to the ministry of information & broadcasting opposing the government’s fresh proposal on allocating 100 MHz of their spectrum in the 3,700-3,800 MHz band for 5G services. “Given the essential nature of the C-band for broadcasting services, that supports 100 TV channels, and the significant interference issues posed by reallocating 100 MHz for 5G IMT services, the proposed plan is not feasible. Regulating the User Interface is now active in UK, Germany and France. I would bet it is in other places. This all makes sense, however once you understand that UIs have commercial prominence requirements that have to be combined with the regulatory requirements, you see that this issue is very much affecting how content is offered to consumers in ways that are NOT personalised and consumer friendly. The execution of the implementation is the critical aspect thought. Will need to see how this is, but based on past experience, the execution is not great and further ensures that content is not effectively personally recommended.
