AgTech Friends (in the Bay Area or visiting!) - see below for an in person get together that Sachi Desai, Rhishi P. and I are co-hosting in a couple of weeks. We are excited to get everyone together live so we can catch up in person and share what's going on with everyone and with AgTech. We have a lot of fun talking about the space and thought getting a bigger group together once in a while would be even more fun - especially based on occasions where we get to do so like World Agri-Tech and World Ag Expo. I think Sachi may have been taking some Founder Mode (All In podcast joke for those that missed last episode) - this won't quite make it to 2000s really dope rave status (not that I would know - I had either 4 or 5 kids in the 2000s ...) I think of it more as How I Met Your Mother meets Big Bang Theory over dinner, where AgTech geeks get to be the cool kids for a night! For those old enough to remember MUGs (Macintosh User Groups), that's the vibe I think we're going for but our Fat Mac (256k - who could need more?) has been replaced by autonomous tractors and super cool gene editing tools! If you're too young to remember MUGs, Google will handle your questions (they were awesome) - just come and have fun! Having reached my exclamation point quota, I will sign off ... We (Patrick Honcoop and I) hosted an informal meetup last month in SF South Bay and it was a very good turnout. Many people asked me if this was going to be a regular event. So, this month I am teaming up with Walt Duflock and Sachi Desai to host another informal meetup somewhere on the peninsula in the SF Bay Area on September 30th, 2024. We are calling it "AgTech Alchemy". We hope the informal conversations and connections will lead to some magic (or not!). We will announce the location 3-4 days before the event, based on the number of people who register for the event. Use the link below to register. https://lu.ma/u8eyob8d

🇨🇾 We're excited to reveal the second panel of On Tour II: a 90-minute sequel to one of the most upvoted presentations that we had at the Warsaw edition of the conference, last year. 🎙️ "Deceptively Obvious 2.0" is a case study by six industry lawyers who practice in five different countries. We will look at the real examples of contractual terms that seemed "obvious" when parties negotiated their deals – but turned out to be surprisingly complicated, when conflicts arrived. 🇺🇸 S. Gregory Boyd (Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz) from New York leads the panel. Joining him are 🇩🇪 Tobias Schelinski (Taylor Wessing Germany) from Hamburg, 🇬🇧 Paul Gardner (Wiggin) from London, 🇮🇹 Nicoletta Serao (LCA Studio Legale) from Milan, 🇬🇧 Nick Allan 🔜 GDC (Lewis Silkin) from London, and the old industry hand 🇨🇦Ryan Black (DLA Piper) from Vancouver. The six stories of this panel will be served in two parts, 45 minutes each, with a ☕️ coffee break in-between – a format that seems exceedingly useful, given how much content we plan to consume over the two days of the conference. #gamesindustry #videogames #litigation #contracts
