🌟 Exciting News: A New Chapter Begins! 🌟 I’m thrilled to announce that I have joined the Home Centered Care Institute (HCCI) as their Director of Sales & Business Development. This is more than a career move for me - it’s a commitment to a cause I deeply believe in: advancing home-based primary care. Why HCCI? Here are a few reasons: 1. Innovative Care Model: HCCI is at the forefront of transforming healthcare delivery. Our model emphasizes bringing comprehensive, high-quality primary care directly into the homes of patients who need it most. It’s not just healthcare; it’s care that comes home. 2. Impactful Mission: At HCCI, we’re not just working; we’re making a difference. We are dedicated to ensuring that those with chronic and complex health issues, especially the elderly, receive the care they need in the comfort and safety of their homes. 3. Growth and Learning: HCCI is a hub of knowledge and expertise in home-based care. Joining this team means continuous learning and growth, both personally and professionally. We’re a team of passionate, dedicated professionals committed to making healthcare more accessible and effective. 4. Collaboration and Community: We believe in collaboration, not just within our team but with our partners and communities. I've heard a lot about the great work and leadership of our Chief Executive, Amanda Pritchard. Listening to her today made it clear why she is our leader, and I am here for it. Her emphasis on "listening" to people as a key aspect of leadership giving a shout-out to Ruth May as being in the forefront of this style of leadership, along with her focus on the "practical implementations" of policies and visions, truly resonated with me. She has also highlighted the amazing work of Claire Fuller in practical implementation lead leaderhip. Truly inspirational, realistic, and clear leadership from all. While there is still much to work on, Amanda's acknowledgment of these challenges and her realistic approach provide a balanced perspective. It's crucial to highlight the incredible work being done by our Primary Care colleagues, Secondary Care teams, and Management. Their hard work, combined with a vision for the future that includes investing in technology, fuels our hope and determination. We can do this! One of the standout initiatives is the integration of health services, which ensures that patients receive coordinated and seamless care. For instance, the NHS has been implementing integrated care systems (ICSs) that bring together hospitals, primary care, and community services to work collaboratively. This approach has significantly improved patient outcomes and reduced hospital admissions by providing care closer to home and within the community. The NHS has also been at the forefront of utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance diagnostics and treatment. For example, AI-powered tools are being used to analyze medical images, and even to write discharge letters more efficiently, helping to free up beds for patients more quickly. Amanda Pritchard's leadership together with so many amazing NHS workers is crucial in driving these advancements. Her vision of integrating health services, empowering people to work together, and leveraging technology and AI is exactly the type of leadership we need during these challenging times. Her clear and realistic approach, combined with practical examples of success, inspires confidence and sets a strong direction for the future of our NHS.

Becker's Hospital Review asked 76 C-suite executives from hospitals and health systems across the U.S. to share their focus for the remainder of the year. Unsurprisingly, streamlining processes and digital innovation topped the list. In our digital-centric world, it's noteworthy that while these leaders have multiple priorities, they never lose sight of focusing on people. Nearly half of the executives emphasized staffing or employee well-being as a core focus. Garrett South, Senior Leader of Patient Experience at Dignity Health, California Hospital Medical Center, highlighted the importance of sparking joy in patient experience by recharging and re-energizing staff. Leong Koh, MD, President and CEO of Northwest Permanente, is excited about opening the new Center for Black Health and Wellness in Portland, aiming to deliver culturally competent care for Black members. Peggy Duggan, MD, Executive Vice President, Chief Physician Executive, and Chief Medical Officer of Tampa General Hospital, stressed the importance of reconnecting with our mission. She asked a crucial question: "Can we all stop for a few minutes every day and remind ourselves of our mission?" Mark Gridley, President and CEO of FHN Memorial Hospital, also emphasized the need for providers, leaders, and staff to work on their resiliency and reconnect to their 'healthcare why,' ensuring they have the energy to finish the year strong and start the next year well-prepared. Anthony Ashby, Interim President of CHI Health Immanuel, focused on their Wildly Important Goal (W.I.G.) to be the best place to work, showcasing a clear commitment to staff well-being. Steve Davis, MD, President and CEO of Cincinnati Children's, Inovalon's success story spotlight, is committed to the ethical implementation of AI, ensuring that ethical considerations remain at the forefront of their innovations. It's clear that while digital advancements are essential, these leaders are equally dedicated to fostering a supportive and engaging environment for their teams.
