https://lnkd.in/gJb2T2zU Article title: Attention for the speech of cleft lip and palate in speaker recognition Author(s): Lakshmi Prasanna P* Journal: Open Journal of Pain Medicine Journal ISSN: 2640-8104 Abstract: Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become indispensable to all people, primarily for the purposes of speaker recognition, voice identification, educational purposes, workplace, and health care. Based on a speaker’s voice characteristics, identification and recognition of the speaker is accomplished. The voice is affected by both intra- and interspeaker variability. In addition to this, a condition known as structural abnormalities can cause resonance, which can seriously affect voice quality. As a result, speakers may experience difficulties when using AI-based devices. The study aims to investigate the effects of speech with cleft lip and palate on speaker recognition. The review stated that even after surgery, some people with cleft lip and palate exhibit hypernasality and poor speech intelligibility depending on the severity of the cleft. #ArtificialIntelligence #CleftLipAndPalate #VoiceQuality #SpeakerRecognition #Hypernasality #PhysiologyOfPain #MechanismsOfPain #AcutePain #ChronicPain #TherapeuticOptions #PainControl #InterventionalProcedures #NonPharmacologicApproaches #PostoperativePain #OncologyPain #PainSyndromes #PalliativeCare #PediatricHealth #AgingHealth #Peertechz #PeertechzPublications #OpenAccess #ScientificJournals #PeerReviewedJournals #OpenAccessPublishers #Pharmacology #Addiction #Abuse #PainMedication #AdverseEvents #DrugSafety #PharmacoeconomicsResearch #QualityOfLife

🚀 Revolutionizing Cataract Care with AI 🚀 Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming healthcare by providing a cheaper, faster, and more efficient service for cataract patients, all while easing the pressure on NHS staff. Let’s explore how! 🌟 🔹 Meet Dora: (From UK Business Ufonia) The AI Voice System Developed in Oxford, Dora is an automated voice system designed to assist cataract patients. 📞 Dora calls patients, asks key questions, interprets their answers, and identifies those needing further clinical assessment. 🔹 Impressive Results 📊 A study published in The Lancet’s eClinicalMedicine in July found Dora's decisions highly aligned with those of supervising ophthalmologists. 🏥 Currently, Dora is in use by nine hospital trusts, primarily in the south of England. 🔹 Patient Prioritization Over 200 patients who recently underwent cataract surgery participated in the study. Three weeks post-operation, they received a follow-up call from Dora. 🔹 Expert Insights Dr. Kanmin Xue, honorary consultant ophthalmologist and co-principal investigator at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, shared: "Dora autonomously calls patients and gathers key information to determine if they are recovering well or need further medical assessment." 🌟 "It successfully prioritizes those needing additional clinical input." 🔹 Cataract surgery is the most frequently performed surgical procedure in the UK, with nearly half a million operations annually (Royal College of Ophthalmologists). 💡 This routine procedure treats blurry vision by replacing the eye’s natural lens with an artificial one. AI like Dora is making waves in healthcare, improving patient outcomes, and streamlining processes. 🌐 How do you see AI transforming the future of medicine? Examples of successful use cases for AI in improving patient outcomes and experiences? One standout example is the Mayo Clinic's use of AI to predict which patients are at risk of serious cardiac events. By analyzing vast amounts of patient data, their AI model can identify subtle patterns that human doctors might miss, enabling early intervention and potentially saving lives. Across the ocean, London’s Moorfields Eye Hospital has revolutionized ophthalmology with DeepMind's AI system. This technology can analyze eye scans with extraordinary accuracy, speeding up the diagnosis process for diseases like diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. What once took weeks now takes mere minutes, with a level of precision previously unheard of. In Boston, Massachusetts General Hospital employs AI to streamline radiology. Their AI models quickly analyze imaging scans to detect abnormalities such as fractures or tumors. This not only accelerates diagnosis times but also allows radiologists to focus on more complex cases, enhancing patient care. These examples underscore a pivotal shift in healthcare. AI isn't just a tool for efficiency; it's becoming a partner in patient care, offering insights that augment the human touch in medicine. Let's discuss: How could AI shape the future of healthcare in other specialties? Share your thoughts and let's explore the possibilities together. #AIinHealthcare #PatientOutcomes #HealthcareTechnology #PrecisionMedicine #DigitalTransformation

These challenges and solutions for Ortho AI adoption are spot on. 🎯
In today's rapidly evolving healthcare landscape, leveraging cutting-edge technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) is paramount to improving patient care and outcomes. I presented at the West Virginia Orthopaedic Society and West Virginia Association of Orthopaedic Executives (WVOS) in April 2024. The discussion centered around the implications of AI adoption in orthopaedics and explored key challenges and solutions in integrating AI-driven technologies. In addressing the integration of AI in orthopaedics, several significant challenges have come to light: Challenges: - Data Quality and Bias: Ensuring data integrity and addressing biases within datasets are critical for AI-driven decision-making. - Deployment Challenges: Integrating AI models into existing healthcare workflows poses logistical and technical hurdles. - Interpretability and Trust: Lack of transparency in AI algorithms can undermine trust and acceptance among clinicians and patients. The following solutions can help tackle these obstacles head-on and ensure the successful implementation of AI technologies. Solutions: - Robust Data Governance: Implementing stringent protocols to enhance data quality and mitigate biases. - Integration and Workflow Optimization: Collaborating with clinical and IT teams to streamline AI integration and provide adequate support for deployment. - Explainable AI: Embracing Explainable AI techniques to enhance transparency and understandability of AI-driven insights. Addressing these challenges is essential for realizing AI's full potential in improving patient care as we navigate the complexities of AI adoption in orthopaedics.
