Recently, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has introduced the ACO Primary Care Flex Model to incentivize primary care providers in eligible Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) to offer innovative, team-based care to Medicare beneficiaries. It aims to improve healthcare quality, reduce costs, and enhance access to care while promoting competition among healthcare providers. Medicalincs is a Care Transformation Organization, and we work with primary care providers to transform your practice, reduce your administrative burden, give you back time, and increase your patient and staff satisfaction rate. Our Primary Care Innovation and Transformation approach is multidisciplinary, holistic, and at times, out-of-the-box. Whether a delivery solution rests in technology, infrastructure, education, organization, or simply, the human element, our team is equipped with the insight necessary to deliver tangible, sustainable results that achieve peak efficiency. MHQP leaders have helped spearhead an effort to urge the Massachusetts legislature to pass pending legislation which includes the establishment of a #PrimaryCare Task Force in Massachusetts. This Task Force would help lead the Commonwealth out of its current primary care crisis by studying primary care access, delivery and payment, and issuing recommendations over the next year to stabilize and strengthen the primary care system and the primary care workforce in the state. 133 Massachusetts health care stakeholders and leaders sent a letter to leaders of the Massachusetts Senate and House of Representatives serving on the conference committee focused on the legislation, pressing for immediate action on the proposal. “We urge you to support Section 116 of the Senate Healthcare bill (S. 2881) as a critical first step in addressing the Primary Care crisis in Massachusetts,” state the authors of the letter. “If we ignore this crisis, Primary Care will continue to erode, and the cost of healthcare will continue to rise in the face of worsening health equity and access to care.” The legislature has until the end of July to complete work for the current session. A joint conference committee is working to come to an agreement on the health care bill before then. MHQP would like to thank State Senator Cindy FRIEDMAN for her proactive leadership on this bill. Healthcare providers today face unprecedented challenges: more patients with complex needs, increased focus on prevention, extensive data and technology use, and maintaining a compassionate bedside manner. These demands make it increasingly difficult to keep independent primary care practices operational. Many PCPs are avoiding the shift into value-based payment models because of financial barriers, the workforce shortage, and performance measures, according to a recent Commonwealth Fund study (see link below). The study highlights that some health systems in VBP models don’t give PCPs or practice sites the resources needed to carry out the model requirements. ilumed’s ACO REACH program exists to provide wraparound services to providers so they can successfully improve patient care while lowering costs. PCPs are also concerned about financial challenges. Switching from getting paid per service to getting paid based on patient outcomes can be a shock. Accountable care is great primary care, and the ACO REACH model is the best and only way forward for accountable care because it incentivizes physicians to see patients more often to stay ahead of chronic conditions and reduce unnecessary hospitalizations. Primary care providers deliver excellent care. ilumed is here to help them do it. #ValueBasedCare #HealthcareInnovation #PrimaryCare Healthcare Innovation David Raths

GP Services: 2030 The Art of Possible for NHS Primary Care As the new UK government completes its first month in office, I like many wait with a mix of excitement, trepidation and curiosity to see and understand what the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England will deliver for our healthcare systems. There is a lot to achieve particularly in primary care and I believe now is the time for a transformative shift, where the future of GP services needs to shape up and be more innovative and patient centred than ever before. In this article I share some key trends and insights on the British Medical Association's Vision to Rebuild General practice and outline how a national GP-led continuity of care model be rebuilt. Key trends to read about: Digital Integration: Expect seamless integration of advanced digital tools, from AI-driven diagnostics to virtual consultations, making healthcare more accessible and efficient. Personalized Care: with access to enhanced data, GPs can and should be able to offer more tailored treatment plans, focusing on individual patient needs and proactive health management. Multidisciplinary care delivery: to align with the Government’s Neighbourhood Health System, we need more collaborative care models, integrating various healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive and coordinated care across the community. As we move towards 2030, the goal is to create a healthcare system that is not only responsive but also anticipatory, ensuring that every patient receives timely and personalised care. I believe the moment is now to make real change and its why I joined Kry. Let’s embrace these exciting changes and continue to innovate in ways that make healthcare more effective and accessible for everyone. I’d be keen to hear your thoughts and welcome a discussion with health advisors, partners and providers.
