Summertime sadness is real. In this season dominated by heatwaves and social media feeds filled with vibrant escapades, the reality of summertime blues hits hard for some. This article takes the lid off the pressure-cooker expectations of summer, expectations that make us feel like every summer day should feel like vacation. Recognizing summer depression, or seasonal affective disorder (SAD), is important. Understanding why summertime blues happen in the first place — from disrupted routines and FOMO to physiological changes due to heat — is key. Through embracing routines or seeking solace in curated spaces, there are a plethora of ways to temper the sting the season might bring your way. It's about finding comfort in cool sanctuaries and soothing scents, creating playlists that speak to the soul, and nourishing oneself with self-care rituals. Seeking therapy and social support is also vital, reminding us that we're not alone in navigating summertime struggles. As Lana’s hit song demonstrates, this experience is not one we need to navigate alone. Grasp this about your own psychology And you can create happiness In three easy steps You are an anticipatory being. You get a much bigger thrill from looking forward to something than actually getting it. How can you use this knowledge to your mental health’s advantage? By intentionally setting up things to look forward to. And then make sure you take pleasure in it by savoring it. 1. Have a SMALL thing to look forward to For me, that is my single cup of coffee every day. If I drink too much coffee, I can’t sleep at night. But I love coffee, so I have one cup fairly early in the day. But I make it count. It’s a loaded coffee prepped with heavy whipping cream and butter. PLUS, I add whipped cream on top. 2. Have a MEDIUM thing to forward to It's my birthday week, so my husband and I plan a nice weekend excursion. It’s going to be fun and uplifting. 3. Have a BIG thing to forward to It's still a secret. But I’m so excited about planning it. What are the small, medium, and big things you’re looking forward to? Do you agree that intentionally setting them up adds to the joy in your life?

Just like the comforting melody of "Let It Be" by The Beatles, our mental health journey deserves attention and care. 💙Here are six simple reasons why looking after your mental well-being matters, inspired by the wisdom of this timeless tune: 🌿Strength in Tough Times: "When I'm feeling down, I find solace in the words, 'Let it be.'" Taking care of our mental health helps us find inner strength to face life's challenges. 🌿Acceptance of What Is: "Sometimes, we just have to accept things as they are." Embracing our mental health means accepting ourselves and our situations, flaws and all. 🌿Finding Comfort in Connections: "A friend's words can be like a warm embrace, saying, 'Let it be.'" Seeking support reminds us that we're not alone. 🌿Being Okay with Imperfection: "We're all a little rough around the edges, and that's perfectly okay." Embracing our imperfections is part of the journey toward better mental well-being. 🌿Discovering Inner Peace: "Even in the darkest moments, there's a glimmer of hope." Cultivating peace within ourselves helps us navigate life's storms. 🌿Extending Kindness to Ourselves: "We're all just doing our best, and that's enough." Showing ourselves kindness and understanding is crucial. 💙 As we listen to the soothing melody of "Let It Be," let's remember the simple yet profound lessons it teaches. Let's prioritize our mental well-being with kindness, acceptance, and a little bit of grace. In the hustle and bustle of everyday life, "guy time" emerges as a space of relief and understanding for many men. So, why do men value this time so profoundly? The answer lies not just in the joy of the moment but in shared experiences and the unwavering support that comes with it. Science sheds light on this phenomenon, revealing that such gatherings are important for mental health, helping reduce stress and combat loneliness. Yet, it's the heart of the matter that truly resonates. "Guy time" offers a space where men can be their authentic selves, free from the societal pressures that often demand stoicism and self-reliance above all else. In these spaces, conversations flow deeper than the day's superficial chatter, touching on dreams, fears, and everything in between. #GuyTimeBenefits

The familiar and age-old knife’s edge; to be or not to be. I found myself in this alley many times. There are ample reasons to choose not to be. After fifty plus years of struggle I am still barely understanding myself, let alone understanding others or coping with life. It’s tiring and at times I want to stop fighting to progress my mental journey altogether, like a veteran who has seen too much war. Most people in this world are either in complete denial of what mental health means or their life was in balance since birth, and they never had to fight for it. The few people that seem to have awareness and useful answers are often barely coping themself. And when it comes to the path to not being; I know the way and have the means. So why am I still here? What are the arguments to be? One big reason is that after life, there may be nothing, and that hardly sounds attractive. Another is that I owe it to my son, girlfriend, a few close friends and my dog, to be. Especially my son and my dog, because they didn’t choose to be in my life; I chose them. And lastly there is the opportunity cost; every client I coach or counsel be it formally in a session, or last night I a busy cocktail bar (I seem to attract people that need to talk to someone), every bit of love and life skill that I give my son, every bit of cuddles and belly rubs give my dog, it’s a little positive ripple in this world. I does mean that every morning I have to choose being here. I guess that it’s my path for now. If this story sounds familiar and you want to connect for coaching or counseling or just for a no-strings-attached chat, pm me orme hook me up on www.trijbels.com.

I leverage music for growth and overachievement in my career | Senior Full Stack .NET Developer | Upcoming Author
These questions frequently arise in our minds when we undertake something new: - Is it for me or not? - I haven't done it before. - What will people think? - What if I'm not enough? - And so on... Our sharp minds then begin to ponder these queries, but did you know? According to research, the average person has approximately 60,000 thoughts per day. What's truly concerning is that 75% of these thoughts are negative, and 95% are repetitive. Many of these negative thoughts are driven by the flight or fight response in our brain. This constant barrage of negativity can significantly impact our mental health, happiness, and overall quality of life. So, how do we deal with it? How do we listen to our hearts rather than our minds? This is where I found a solution that worked wonders for me. By asking the right questions, particularly the magical question: "What's the worst that can happen?" Our brains often conjure up irrational fears and excuses, which upon closer examination, we realize we can easily handle. I learned this powerful technique from my mentor: "Prepare for the best and be ready for the worst." Try this and transform your life. Follow Harsh Jarthal for more insights. Feel free to share your ideas.
