Adding value to veterinary recruitment in the UK | Co-owner of Vetted Recruitment Limited. Always hiring!
Is there a recruitment crisis within the veterinary sector? Or is it more of a retention crisis? We always focus on recruitment, however is retention not just as important, to ensure that the skills gaps we're so desperate to fill don't happen in the first place? There are a few things that can be easily implemented to help make a start: ⭐ Flexible working – this can mean many different things to different people – shorter days, fewer days, seasonal work etc. With the increasing importance and prioritisation of work/life balance now adays, offering flexible working however you can is vital. ⭐ Treat people fairly - Perceived unfairness in the distribution of rewards can lead to unsettled staff and ultimately resignations. Ensure you are fair and transparent in all pay grades and benefit schemes offered. ⭐Prioritise Wellbeing – By ensuring you look after your team, they will in turn look after your patients and clients. Support managers to help their teams, by making sure they have the skills and tools to manage issues such as workplace stress and presenteeism. ⭐ Enable Development and Progression – By using regular appraisals you can provide opportunities for career development and progression and gain a better understanding of your employee’s career expectations and be better able to support and manage them moving forward. Not everyone wants to move into management or take on additional qualifications, so listen to what is important to them and create a plan together. ⭐ Consultation – Consult your teams and give them a 'voice'. By making them feel heard, valued and appreciated you will help improve retention rates. Check out our #blog https://lnkd.in/ehhrDB-p for more insight. Connecting the very best Veterinarian talent with the very best Independent and Corporate animal hospitals across Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina and South Carolina.
📢 Disparities in Reported Veterinarian Salaries in California: Seeking Your Input 📢 After doing some research on average salaries for veterinarians in California, I've noticed a significant discrepancy between published figures and the actual compensation packages being offered. 🧐 Through my ongoing conversations with hundreds of veterinary hospitals across the state, it's clear that the numbers often cited in reports don't reflect the reality of the job market. This disparity can create unrealistic expectations and confusion for both veterinarians and employers. At Global Talent Partners, we recognize the importance of accurate and reliable salary data. That's why we're taking the initiative to conduct a confidential salary survey specifically for the veterinary industry. Our goal is to provide a clearer, more accurate picture of current compensation trends, which will help in advising and managing expectations for both veterinarians and hospitals alike. 📊 We Need Your Input: Veterinarians: Share your salary information confidentially to help us build a comprehensive understanding of the current landscape. Hospitals: Contribute your data to ensure we represent the employer's perspective accurately. This survey will be invaluable in: Benchmarking Salaries: Providing up-to-date and realistic salary benchmarks. Hiring Strategies: Assisting hospitals in crafting competitive offers to attract top talent. 💬 Get Involved: Comment below or send me a direct message if you would like to participate in the survey or receive the final report. Let's work together to bridge the gap between perception and reality, ensuring a fair and transparent job market for everyone in the veterinary field. #VeterinaryMedicine #SalarySurvey #VetCareers #GlobalTalentPartners #CareerInsights #CaliforniaVeterinarians

Staff turnover in private practice in dietetics is super high. I don’t have stats or anything. This is just an observation. Over the next 3-6 months, I will be looking at hiring more staff through Ideal Nutrition. Last time I advertised, I actually got noticeably less applicants than I expected 😅 And it got me thinking that either: 1) Working at Ideal Nutrition is not as good of an opportunity as I think it is 😂 2) Maybe I don’t advertise how good of an opportunity it is as well as I could? In addition to all of the things we offer, there is one thing I wanted to highlight in case it’s the latter point. We started hiring dieititans >3 years ago, and nobody has left yet. We are now are team of 8, for context. Obviously somebody will leave at some stage haha. And I’m okay with that. But while we have this track record, I wanted to advertise it. Surely it means we are doing something right? So if you are a dietitian and have ever considered applying to work with us, I reckon that’s an aspect worth factoring in. And if you want any opinions of what it’s like working with us, you can simply ask my staff members. I encourage them to answer honestly about both the good and bad aspects of working with us 🙂👇 Tyler Brooks Leah Higl Hanah Mills Samantha Staines Monica Cvoro Rosalie Orr Josh Wernham

Helping veterinary leaders overcome the challenges of practice ownership | Scaling our own end of life care team by seeking out the most caring and empathetic vets
Why is the veterinary jobs market such a nightmare for practice owners and how can you improve your hiring methods to optimise your chances? This very topic came up on our weekly leadership community call yesterday and this clip illustrates our ethos when it comes to recruiting. ➡ Subjectivity is not your friend when it comes to making good decisions about who to hire. ➡ A plan and process will help you look past the "likeability factor" of candidates and create a shopping list of characteristics your next hire must have. ➡ That process forms one of the four pillars of our Leaders course but you can now "game" your hiring by tapping in to our expertise with our four new recruiter options. ✅ 1. Job Ad Writing Service - finely crafted ad copy that will speak to your target candidates and use NLP techniques to help identify who will bring the characteristics you need. ✅ 2. Job Ad Media Campaign - ads and a media pack to enhance your employer brand and show what you stand for. Stand out in a sea of job ads with extra content that will get you seen. ✅ 3. Job Ad plus Advanced Media Campaign - Social media and design support plus access to our database of over 8000 veterinary professionals to really enhance your visibility and get your ad in front of the people you want to hire. ✅ 4. Full Recruiter Service - our full support crafting all of the above, plus a dedicated campaign manager who will search, filter and select only the very best candidates for you, using advanced interview techniques to eliminate subjectivity. If you're struggling to get applications for any veterinary role please get in touch for a free chat about how we can help you. ➡ Hit me up in my DMs or head to https://lnkd.in/eDzibgQF to see more about our process and services.
