Nurse Career Coach | Nursing Professional Development Expert | Speaker | #NursesBelongInTheBoardroom®️
“Collaboration without mutual benefit is simply a favor,” a wise friend once told me. As my business grows, I’ve become more INTENTIONAL and SPECIFIC about the kind of nurses that I want to work with through #LeapToCorporateNursing, and the information that I expose my clients to. The key to my consistency and success is that I don’t deviate from my lane / area of expertise. I work alongside my clients in #corporatenursing. I’m also in senior management, hiring for the exact roles that I post about. I’m not anti-bedside. That foundational knowledge is needed to become a boardroom expert in corporate nursing. But, #corporatenurses do NOT work at the bedside or directly with patients. We focus on improving health care and patient outcomes through the products, devices and drugs that we know best. I’m also not against collaboration — when the connection is genuine and there’s true reciprocity. While I do believe there are multiple ways to serve the patient population, I specifically created this pathway because I saw an untapped need based on systemic issues that weren’t being addressed in the hospital setting. As I announced in June, #TheCorporateNurse® was asked to work with #nurseleaders at select hospitals and institutions to create a feedback-oriented culture that changes the conversation about nurses’ performance and development! However, I’m still committed to changing how nurses are paid and how we’re supported, which is why #LEAP2CN enrollment will remain available year around. As always, because #NursesBelongInTheBoardroom, I’m focused on creating professional wellness for nurses in both the clinical and corporate setting. 🏥💃🏾 The Corporate Nurse® #NursesBelongInTheBoardroom #nursingresearch #nurseleaders #linkedinnursing #hospitalmanagement #nursingoutcomes #nursingcareers #nursingdevelopment

Bedside nursing is tough. 😱 I have a bad day when there's a typo in my email... nurses have a bad day when their patient codes and they have to go through extreme graphic measures to LITERALLY save a life. They're SAINTS! I could truly never serve like they do. (mostly because I hate blood, hospitals, needles...) I digress... I know someone who is burned out from bedside nursing. She's looking to transition to a different type of role in the healthcare field, but the massive array of opportunity and direction is overwhelming. We've been using AI to sort possible options with a RN degree and assessing salaries that way too. Does anyone do recruiting for healthcare who can talk to my contact? Anyone know of a resource that could help guide her direction? Or anyone just want to connect with a fellow nurse who's burned out and struggling at the hospital? Not a marketing-related post, but I know LinkedIn will do its thing 🤗 TIA #nurse #healthcare #healthcarejobs #healthcarerecruiter #jobsearch #medicalcareers #medicaleducation

This article is a reminder of the human impact of the #HomeHealth labor shortage, both to clinicians and to patients. With many experienced clinicians retiring and not enough new faces stepping into the arena, it's no secret that we're facing a challenge to provide access to the #HomeHealthcare patients need. What sometimes gets lost in this conversation is the huge administrative burden we place on clinicians. No one chooses the expense and time of pursuing a career in #Nursing or #PhysicalTherapy so they can spend half their day as a data entry clerk! But that's what's currently happening. NIH estimates that home health clinicians spend a whopping 30-50% of their time on administrative and non-clinical tasks. I believe fixing this problem should be our top priority. It would not only allow us to care for more patients directly, but would also help attract generation of clinicians to #HomeHealth. We've been talking about ways to reduce the load on nurses for decades, but imho it hasn't gotten any better. At Io Health, we are figuring out innovative ways to solve this problem. #TransformingHealthcare #PositiveDisruption #HealthTech #MedTech https://lnkd.in/g75MGHKt

Oregon’s hospitals have added 2,900 jobs this year, continuing a steady growth trend in the health care sector. This bright spot contrasts with statewide job growth, which has slowed in the past year. The information is part of an Oregon Employment Department report, which also shows 18,800 vacancies, including 1,600 open nursing positions. The data show that Oregon’s hospitals are vital sources of jobs, and that there’s still work ahead to grow the state’s health care workforce to fill those nurse vacancies.

This is a huge problem in our healthcare workforce. Low pay coupled with training programs that cut corners to save money, equals inadequate training, risk to the patients and residents they care for and burnout causing them to leave the field instead of climbing the career ladder. CNA's are the hardest workers and most underpaid and under appreciated members of the the healthcare team. We need to do better! Quality education and better compensation equals happier employees, improved retention rates, and better patient outcomes.
