Trauma Bonds. Leaving an abusive relationship isn't always easy. Trauma bonding can occur in various situations, such as: - Between a child and an abusive caregiver or adult - Between a trafficked child or adult and their traffickers - Between a hostage and kidnapper - Between the leader and members of a cult, and so on. In these bonds, there's an imbalance of power, making it difficult to break free without professional help. It's not uncommon for individuals who have experienced abuse in childhood to find themselves in similar abusive situations in adulthood, perpetuating the cycle. Personally, I have had to cut off contact with abusers, and it was not a journey I embarked on alone or easily. Seeking therapeutic help is crucial. Understanding what healthy relationships look like, learning boundaries, building self-esteem, and practicing self-care can greatly aid in reclaiming your life. We value your thoughts and encourage you to share. This page is a safe space for survivors and others to connect and support each other. For further assistance, survivors of trafficking crimes are welcome to apply for one of our outreach care boxes which comes with 1:1 peer support. To support our efforts, consider shopping, donating, or sharing our posts. www.free-to-fly.org #trauma #traumabonding #nonprofit #healing #hearyourvoice #healingv #selfcare #boundaries #healthyrelationships #trustyourgut #journey #nonprofit #hereforyou #seekprofessionalhelp #stopstigmas #traumarecovery

RISE & THRIVE Founder~Beauty Industry Expert~Podcast Host~Speaker~Speaks on creative careers, overcoming trauma in life and business, and getting back up again!
Trauma can be a powerful force that shakes us to our core, leaving us feeling lost and alone. However, it can also be a catalyst for growth and transformation. When we come together and support each other through our shared trauma, we have the ability to rise stronger and more resilient than ever before. In the face of adversity, we can choose to stand by each other's side, offering a listening ear, a comforting embrace, and a sense of solidarity. By sharing our experiences and our pain, we can find strength in our unity and resilience in our collective healing. Through empathy and compassion, we can create a safe space for each other to heal and grow. We can lift each other up when we stumble, and celebrate each other's victories, no matter how small they may seem. Together, we can turn our trauma into a source of empowerment and a driving force for positive change. So let us rise together through our trauma, knowing that we are never alone in our struggles. Let us remind each other that we are strong, capable, and deserving of love and support. And let us hold onto each other tightly, knowing that together, we can conquer anything that comes our way. #traumahealing #resilience #supporteachother #communitysolidarity #risingtogether #empowerment #positivechange #nonprofitorganization #nonprofits #hearthealthawareness #LinkedInSupport #mentalhealthawareness #compassion #empathy

This Major Trauma Awareness Week (16th - 22nd September), we want to shine a light on the life-changing impact of major trauma and the importance of raising awareness for the long road to recovery. Thousands of people in the UK are affected by catastrophic injuries every year, whether from road collisions, falls, workplace incidents, or violence. Whilst medical teams work tirelessly to save lives, the emotional, practical, and financial support that survivors need to rebuild their lives is often overlooked. One of the ways we’re helping to support those affected is by taking part in Go Orange Day, an annual fundraising event organised by Day One Trauma Support. Go Orange Day encourages people to get creative and raise funds by embracing all things orange—whether it’s through wearing orange, hosting orange-themed events, or like us at Simpson Millar, running a fantastic bake sale! 🍰 We kicked off the bake sale at our Manchester office yesterday and continued in Liverpool today, with a wonderful selection of orange-inspired cakes and treats baked by Katherine (Kate) Sweeney, our Partner and Head of Medical Negligence, alongside contributions from our brilliant team and Kate's incredible best friend, who baked some of the delicious goodies. We were also thrilled to have our CEO, greg cox, come along and show his support for this important cause, along with some of our Senior Management Team members. A big thank you to Clockwise Offices and Cubo Work for giving us the space to make it all happen! 🧡 Day One Trauma Support is a charity dedicated to helping people affected by major trauma rebuild their lives. Their support starts from the moment of injury and continues through recovery, offering emotional and practical help to survivors and their families. They provide everything from peer support, welfare advice, and financial assistance, ensuring that no one has to face the journey alone. Day One’s services are a lifeline for many who struggle to access the right help in the aftermath of a life-changing injury. If you’d like to support this incredible cause, even a small donation can go a long way. Please consider donating to Day One Trauma Support via this link: https://lnkd.in/er5HaK-5 #MTAW24 #GoOrangeDay #DayOneCharity #MajorTraumaAwarenessWeek #SupportSurvivors #RebuildingLives #SimpsonMillar

On National #PTSDAwarenessDay we want to recognize, raise awareness, and #BreakTheStigma of PTSD and support all those struggling with mental and emotional challenges as a result of trauma. Veterans, military personnel, and first responders are among the groups most heavily impacted by PTSD due to the trauma they experience on a daily basis. Not all wounds are visible. 70% of people worldwide will experience trauma of some kind in their lifetime. There are currently about 12 million people in the United States with PTSD. Approximately 7% to 8% of the US population will have PTSD at one point in their lives. But there is hope and there is help available. We now know there are effective treatments available for PTSD, which can help reduce or eliminate symptoms of PTSD. Unfortunately, getting access to these treatments is not always easy or possible. Ten Ten Life exists to help people ACCESS these treatments when they are in need. Supporting Ten Ten Life is a way to help people suffering with PTSD symptoms access help and care. One way to support Ten Ten Life is to donate to our Freedom Drive, which we use to raise funds to provide care to our Military, Veterans, and First Responders. Join us in celebrating and giving back to those who have provided and protected our Freedom and Independence by ensuring and providing mental and emotional FREEDOM to these heroes and empowering them to live LIFE to the fullest. Our goal is to reach $10k in donations before July 4th, which will unlock a 100% matching donation! Any donation amount will help us reach that goal and make a difference! All funds donated will go toward helping Military Personnel, Veterans, and First Responders access the highest quality trauma-informed Counseling and Professional Coaching services they need to experience healing and wholeness. Please support our mission today with your tax-deductible donation! Learn more and donate at tentenlife.org/support or https://lnkd.in/eJEyBE92
