How to select a good flying school for your Commercial Pilot's License? A very popular and frequent question 🕵♀️ I myself had a great difficulty in finding out the one for me. But I had numerous good souls helping me out. Now It's my turn to share it with you... Here is the list of things that you will need to look out for before applying to a flying school. 1. First and foremost, whether the school and the course are approved by the respective Aviation authority. Eg DGCA in India, FAA in the USA.. etc,. 2. Number of aircraft, Mixed fleets. Ideally, the best fleet looks like... Cessna 152, 172 For PPL Cessna 172 (G1000) for IR Multi-engine aircraft like PA 34, DA 42, etc,. 3. Instructor-to-student ratio (1:4 acceptable) 4. Students to aircraft ratio (5:1 acceptable) 5. Average hourly rates for the aircraft and Instructor. 6. Local Fuel prices 7. Accommodation and food expenses 8. Transportation to and from school. 9. Examiners availability and charges. Much better if in-house Examiners are available. 10. Most importantly alumni and present students' feedback. Bonus point: If the flying school has its own maintenance base, nothing like it 😎 If you have anything more, please feel free to add to this list in the comments section for the benefit of upcoming flyers ✈ -Meenakshi Somasundaram #pilot #pilottraining #flying #flyingschool #flightoperations #flighttraining #flightcrew #flightschool #flighttraining #flightinstructor #dreambig #ambitious #flyinghigh #cockpit #cessna #aircraft #flightsafety

11moMeenakshi Somasundaram I would like to add couple of points to what you mentioned - The climatic conditions and airport/airspace congestion. These two factors play an important role in how one's flying is going to progress and the quality of training. And of course, the safety track record is an integral part of operations and can not be ignored. I hope you agree.
