Some collaborations feel special, even if it's early days. A big milestone in our journey for #change at Niiti Consulting today. We signed a formal MoU with O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) to collaborate on action research, deiving #sustainablechange. Over the next 5 years we hope to come up together with toolkits and services for MSMEs as well as mid caps to be climate resilient and future ready. It was in 2007 when I had the opportunity to meet Tim Brown at IDEO and got introduced to the idea of #designthinking. Since then it's been the approach for me in everything I do at work or home! Including the idea of a for profit virtual company for enabling social change that shaped Niiti Consulting. In the past decade, I've been deeply motivated by Don Norman's approach to design and have been devouring his writings and books. So it was a bit of a fan girl moment when I got a chance to meet him in person today and got my own signed copy of the first book that I bought! #booksthatinspire #usercentricchange Thanks Anthony Lopez for this!

If business could stimulate social progress everywhere they operate, poverty, pollution, and disease would decline and stakeholder profits would rise. The idea of creating shared value—pursuing financial success through and alongwith societal benefits—has got much traction in recent times. How does one track progress of this shared value? We at Niiti Consulting have been attempting to build an evaluation design and a process for monitoring and evaluating the Women's Financial Inclusion Initiative. #WFII aims to enhance the usage and diversity of financial products and services, especially among those from marginalized socio-economic backgrounds across India. The program aims at building an enabling environment that promotes innovation in early and mature stage fintechs to build and grow women-centric products and services, and builds a community of practice that improves agency of women. #Entrepreneurship training can be an oxymoron if not done with the intent of ensuring that participants become self reliant. This can be especially complex if the trainees are women and men from marginalised tribal communities who have almost never been encouraged to think or act independently. We do what we do at Niiti Consulting hoping it will touch and transform lives and the #sustainable solutions we develop to further #transformative #change are really effective and implementable on ground. This (unsolicited) note from one of our long term partners Grassroots Tea Corporation and dear friend John J Edoor has just filled us with new enthusiasm and validates the fact that genuine #intent, #creative #problem~solving and an #outcome-focused approach will always have traction! The team led by Varun Venugopal Gupta worked with tea growing women and men of Karbi Anglong and other areas of Assam and co created business strategies to improve incomes through setting up their independent processing units over the course of the year.
