As the Olympics come to and end my biggest surprise was learning that there is a break dancing competition. That I was not aware of. While it's super fun to watch and interesting, I just don't get how that is an Olympic "sport"? I'm not questioning the skill, strength or discipline it requires. But a sport? It's also interesting to judge something like that. Although, I suspect there are certain "moves" like in gymnastics that judges are able to gauge the execution of. Furthermore, is a breakdancer considered and "athlete" or a dancer? Not sure I have the answer? Maybe it doesn't matter :). It's amazing to consider the discipline, drive, tenacity and grit required to get to that level of competition regardless of the activity or sport. #olympics #breakdancing #highperformance #leadership #sundaythoughts

Karina Pritika was a talented artistic gymnast who had already competed in international competitions for the Israeli national team. Exactly yesterday when Israel's artistic gymnastics team won an Olympic silver medal they took the opportunity to mention Karina. Karina was brutally murdered on October 7th after going out to enjoy and dance at the Nova festival, she was only 23 years old. We will not forget you Karina🕯 קרינה פריטיקה הייתה מתעמלת אמנותית מוכשרת שכבר התחרתה בתחרויות בעולם בנבחרת ישראל.

I follow all the rules IRL so I just do whatever I want on LinkedIn. I keep it light until it's heavy. I mostly post about: lawyering + leadership | finance + policy | trauma + wellbeing | blaxcellence + women.
What happened to Jordan Chiles is just another day in the life of every Black woman working in any part of the world, sorry to say even in those nations where we are not the "minority". If this happened on a global stage where everyone was watching, imagine what goes on behind closed doors. It's the reason so many women, especially Black women are all of a sudden entrepreneurs. It's the reason so many organizations lack true representation of a cross-section of society in leadership. It's the reason so many Black + Brown people are missing from equity partnership. It's the reason Black people remain the least financially stable in the entire world. How many times have we been told to ignore the glaring data that shows us exactly what we experience in real time every day that we show up and show out? How many times have we been shushed for speaking truth and calling folks "out" "in" "up" "down" and "sideways" to effect the change we should have seen 30 odd years ago? Unfortunately, this is just another example of Black woman watching the pay, promotion, benefits or perks associated with her excellence being siphoned away because of some technicality. When will we stop giving the benefit of the doubt when time and time again our doubts have benefited us?
U.S. gymnast Jordan Chiles called the International Olympic Committee’s ruling that stripped her of her Olympic bronze medal “unjust” while condemning “racially driven attacks on social media” she has faced. It comes after a successful appeal by the Romanian Gymnastics Federation led to Ana Barbosu being declared the bronze medal winner. Read more: https://trib.al/whZNVFU

An unspoken conversation that we need to have: Black women do not always root for each other in the workplace. In fact, I've definitely experienced more than one instance where I've felt sabotaged by a Black woman that I thought was rooting for me. It stings when you experience sabotage. It stings even more when it comes from someone you thought was on your team. Unfortunately, this is a symptom of a larger systemic issue. One reason this occurs is because the pressures of racism and sexism in professional environments can lead to competition rather than collaboration among Black women, as we are often made to feel there are limited seats at the table. But Simone Biles, Rebecca Andrade, and other Black women Olympians have shown us a different narrative - even when the seats at the "table" are literally limited. Watching Black women compete fiercely yet support each other wholeheartedly has been inspiring. This is the model we need in our workplaces. By fostering a culture of mutual respect, mentorship, and empowerment, we can break down the barriers that were meant to divide us and create spaces where Black women can thrive together. Let's find ways to keep rooting for each other, celebrating our achievements, and acknowledging that there is room for all of us to WIN. Together, we can redefine what success looks like and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to SHINE. #RootingForEverybodyBlack #BlackWomen #Win #WomenInTheWorkplace #MentorshipMatters #OlympicInspiration
Rebeca comes from a favela (a Brazilian shanty town or slum) and her brothers would walk her 2 hours to gymnastics practice every single day. Now she’s on the world’s biggest stage, she has #SimoneBiles in her corner rooting for her, and she’s become one of the only athletes in the WORLD who could potentially beat Simone. She won silver in the women’s all-around competition🥈 despite having three ACL tears within four years. She shared, “I have had various opportunities and moments to give up – but I didn’t.” Here’s to her incredible grit and perseverance 👏 We love seeing Simone and Rebeca’s steadfast support for one another. Tag the Rebeca to your Simone!

I am sure that everyone, just like myself, has become an expert at all the Olympic sports since the start of these Games (the GB woman in the Skeet Shooting was cheated by an awful judge decision!) I love Sport Climbing, so I am made up that it's become a fixture in recent Games - the Speed Ascent is unreal to watch and I am in awe at the Bouldering skills. However I still can't believe that Break Dancing is a sport this year, although the Olympics do have form with their odd choices throughout history. In no particular order, here are my top 3 strange Olympic sports: * Pistol Dueling (1908) - Harks back to a more civilized time, though apparently no gauntlets were thrown down and they at least had the decency to use wax bullets. Still must have hurt though, surely? * Solo Synchronized Swimming (1984 - 1992) - I need answers. How can you be synchronized with yourself? How did someone see this at the first Games and then go, "Yep, more of that next time please"? * Tug of War (1900 - 1920) - Come on, this doesn't need an explanation. Who wouldn't watch this, get it back right now! #Olympics #TeamGB #Climbing #BringBackTugOfWar

CRM vs DIGITAL MEDIA Performance?: Waste & Revenue Accountability. Athletes like Simone Biles, excel when they eliminate every possible source of waste in their movements to execute routines worthy of gold - and achieve audience fame. What if markers could perform with equal precision on behalf of their brands? Take Digital Media for example. Have you ever noticed how often #DigitalMedia gets most of the attention – often perceived as a painful cost of doing business, with budgets that dwarf CRM? Typically low precision, spray and pray execution. Even when #CRM business cases seem to have a much better ROI? This is partly understandable given the multiple goals Media serves, beyond driving conversions. Root causes of media budget waste run deep, are complex to address, and addressed in isolation with classic attribution models for optimal performance doesn't work. As the saying goes: ‘Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted; the trouble is I don't know which half.’ There a better way to deliver marketing performances worth of GOLD. To get there it takes courage, leadership, and VISION to radically shift the paradigm towards AUDIENCE DATA-LEAD MARKETING, away from channel centric marketing channels. Getting started: 1. The Blueprint: design an holistic, omnichannel, audience-data centric approach. 2. Unification: connect existing customer data to unique CIDs; and traffic sources to UIDs 3. Intelligence: when you have the customer histories, harvest the embedded intelligence. Apply the latest #AI analytics to detect cohorts, key segments and attributes 4. Audience: use customer intelligence to clearly define ICPs – Ideal Customer Profiles, and for #B2B companies – ISPs – Ideal Stakeholder Profiles. 5. Execution Model: Use this customer data-lead marketing framework to design an omnichannel go-to-market execution model. Simplify personalization at scale, in the same process. And this is key!...: 6. Analytics: Develop Audience-Centric reporting. Not Channel-centric. Analyze the impact and engagment on specific audiences based on the sum total of behavioral signals generated from all channels including organic, paid (media), social media, CRM, trade-shows, PR, etc. This is a high level outline. The bitch is in the details, as they say. Keep it pragmatic. The good news is that with the right partners, companies can get help with a running start. Personally with my clients, I bring to the table cutting edge #SaaS-Lead Managed Service partners like Zeta Global, with whom I have collaborated for years. Respecting your opponent: Key to Elevation
With a single bow, Simone Biles and Jordan Chiles elevated Rebeca Andrade's victory into a triumph for women's solidarity in sports. Brazil's Rebeca Andrade made history by becoming the first gymnast to outperform Simone Biles in a floor final. Reportedly, Jordan asked Simone, "Should we bow to her?" and Simone replied, "Absolutely." This iconic moment captured Biles and Chiles bowing down to Andrade on the podium as she claimed first place. It's a perfect example of sportsmanship and sisterhood in gymnastics. __________ 🚀 Follow SupportWomen.com for inspiring stories of women breaking barriers.
