Give us a follow to learn more about registered apprenticeship pathways in teaching, hear about our events, and see our upcoming research products and resources. I have greatly enjoyed supporting the ERA research tasks so far and contributing to the literature on expanding high-quality pathways into the teaching profession. Please reach out if you have any questions about our work or just want to chat about #educatorapprenticeships or #educatorpreparation! #apprenticeship #educationpolicy #educationresearch #teachermentorship #teacherleadership

Key Messages from Plenary 1 at the AAC…. Graham Hasting-Evans NOCN told us that the Construction Apprenticeship Taskforce wants to see more Level 2 apprenticeship provision and opportunities to meet their reall skills needs and gaps, with adequate funding in place. Joseph Lennox CHA and Clara O’Donnell joined us representing apprentices, they told us they want to see a bigger focus on enrichment and pastoral support by providers, whilst encouraging employers to support providers in improving CIAG in schools specifically in relation to apprenticeships. Kate Ridley-Moy told us funding rules updates for 24/25 will see a reduction in the required regulatory of progress reviews. Work continues to improve the bureaucracy attached to on boarding employers and apprentices. However there was no commitment to timescales in improving the existing system. What are your thoughts??

Registered Apprenticeship national Expert, Retired US Naval Officer, Retired Federal and State Government official.
Since Governor Murphy took office in January 2018, the state has invested well over $50 million to develop apprenticeship, pre-apprenticeship, and work-based programs, contributing to the creation of 652 new Registered Apprenticeship programs – a 100 percent increase – and the onboarding of more than 17,000 new apprentices. The state currently has 8,747 active apprentices in 1,263 programs. Of note, the Growing Apprenticeships in Nontraditional Sectors (GAINS) grant program has provided unprecedented opportunity for women and people of color, with more than two-thirds of GAINS grantees being women or minorities, and the program has doubled the number of women apprentices statewide from six years ago. To meet the growing need for skilled workers, the state dedicated $10 million to expand apprenticeship training centers.

National Apprenticeship Week is 5th to 11th Feb 2024 and Heritage Connects (a shared community of practice for everyone in the historic environment sector) is running a Q&A with employers on 6th Feb, 10am to 4pm. See what Heritage Connects are saying: 'National Apprenticeship Week celebrates the work and achievements of apprentices and their employers across the country, and the positive impact that they make, including in the heritage sector. On Tuesday 6 February, employers of apprentices within the heritage sector will be hosting a Q&A in the Heritage Connects forum.
