"Addiction is a battle that consumes every aspect of life, leaving us feeling lost, powerless, and ashamed. But even in the darkest moments, God's hand is there, ready to guide us toward healing if we’re willing to let go and trust the process. Recovery is not easy, but it's a sacred journey—one that requires us to be honest with ourselves and courageous enough to face our deepest fears and pain. As Narcotics Anonymous teaches, 'We are not responsible for our addiction, but we are responsible for our recovery.' The first step is surrender, acknowledging that we cannot do this alone. When we place our faith in a Higher Power and commit to the daily work of recovery, we begin to transform. Each setback is an opportunity for growth, each victory a testament to God's grace working in our lives. There is no shame in reaching out for help, and no limit to what we can achieve when we do. Through the fellowship of others and the strength given to us by God, we walk this path—one step, one day, one prayer at a time." #StruggleToStrength #HandOfGodInRecovery #SurrenderToWin #OneDayAtATime #NAWisdom #HealingThroughFaith #RecoveryJourney #GodsGrace #KeepComingBack #AddictionRecovery #HopeAndHealing #CleanAndSerene #RecoveryWarrior #HealingIsPossible #FaithInRecovery #ProgressNotPerfection

“It’s not so bad.” “Others have it worse than I do.” These and other statements sound good and may hold some truth, but often they are a coping strategy called minimizing. If we could eliminate pain by minimizing or ignoring it, then we’d live in a much healthier world. But the reality is that minimizing our pain only masks it. To process and heal our pain we must be vulnerable and acknowledge it to God and to safe people—those who can see and understand with compsssion, not judgment or a need to fix us or situations. This morning I met with my D group (discipleship group), a small group of women who are compassionate witnesses for one another. We listen, offer loving presence and care, and pray for each other. It’s incredibly life-giving and healing to be seen and loved in this way! If you don’t have a small group like this, talk with God about it. Look around and see if there are 1 or 2 people in your life who might be willing and able to create this kind of safe community with you. Or talk with someone on staff at your church about being part of such a group. I believe all healing happens in relationship, and we need safe people in our lives who see us and love us for who we are. Spiritual direction is another beautiful space where we can be authentically seen, known, and loved by a compassionate witness. Sometimes that is a safe place to begin before we’re ready for vulnerability in a group. Most of all, learning to be vulnerable and authentic with God is essential if we want to heal and grow. God’s invitation is always, “Come as you are…and let me love you.” #60lifegivinglessons #minimizingemotions #minimizing #vulnerabiltyandauthenticity #emotionallyhealthyspirituality #spiritualjourney #spiritualdirection
