Earlier this month, Wurth Australia held it's annual Kick Off Conference in the beautiful city of Ballarat, Victoria. One of the most exciting additions to this years conference format, was the inclusion of our 'Wurth Australia Expo'. This allowed our internal departments to present their current projects and day-to-day tasks, meeting directly with our Sales Managers to discuss how they can be further supported by our teams. Taking place in the historic Ballarat Mining Exchange building, this was an inspiring and engaging event for all who attended. It's fantastic to see another of TOMRA Mining's XRT Sorters being installed at Saloro, echoing the success we've experienced at Mt Carbine. Leveraging XRT Sorting technology has significantly upgraded our tungsten ore processing, mirroring the positive outcomes now being celebrated by Saloro. The adoption of sensor-based sorting is a game-changer, driving cost optimization by effectively de-bulking barren waste early in the process. This translates to substantial savings across several downstream OPEX drivers from wear rates, reduced power consumption, handling costs, etc... to less downstream capital requirements. Having worked with TOMRA Sorters since 2011, I've witnessed their efficiency in several challenging environments and under pretty adverse operating conditions and can testify to their quality and capability across several minerals and metals. From working with them in relatively remote locations in Zimbabwe and several plants in South Africa to now working with them at Mt Carbine with EQ Resources Limited in tropical FNQ, the machines continuously deliver fantastic results when operated correctly (feed prep is king). These machines are more than just equipment; they are pivotal in enhancing processing efficiency. I'm keen to see the benefits to Saloro from this innovative technology, reinforcing the value of sensor-based sorting in the mining industry. I'm sure it will be another great case study for the technology. Best of luck to Pedro E. Jiménez de Francisco and the team at Saloro! #MiningInnovation #TungstenProcessing #TOMRASorting #SustainableMining
“The tests and the results achieved so far are very positive and favorable. We are convinced that this sorting technology will help Saloro, S.L. to significantly improve efficiency and production at the plant.” Pedro Jiménez, Plant Manager at Saloro’s Barruecopardo tungsten mine about TOMRA’s XRT sorter installed at the site. The sorter, fed with raw material in the 8-25mm size range at a rate of around 30 tons per hour, achieves +90% recovery of scheelite and removes 85 to 90% of host rock prior to downstream processing. Saloro is so satisfied with this result that it wants more TOMRA XRT sorters: “By purchasing more sorters, we aim to further increase the feed grade to the plant, remove material that does not contain scheelite.” #TOMRA #SensorBasedSorting #OreSorting #Tungsten

Transparency and traceability - not just buzzwords here! As a niche industry over many years, there have only been a few mining operators and purveyors for Ammolite. However, recently we’ve seen some new surface miners, collectors and small businesses that are changing the landscape, and similar to the broader coloured gemstone community, we’re calling for authenticity and accountability. As a result, Iniskim has only sourced its Ammonites and Ammolite from trusted vendors with long-term relationships that can demonstrate their ethical business practices. Aligned with last year’s World Jewellery Confederation - CIBJO Congress, 2023 “Transparent and Traceable Gemstone Supply Chains Initiative’’, this has been a core pillar for us from the beginning. Let's continue the momentum! #bts #Ammonite #Ammolite #Industryinsight #sustainability #gemstones #accountability International Gemological Institute - IGI International Colored Gemstone Association American Gem Society American Gem Trade Association (AGTA) GIA (Gemological Institute of America)

🇬🇧 Yesterday, Vedra Metals was invited by the Productive Activities Committee of Deputies to provide its input on the Italian decree-law concerning raw materials (DL 84/2024). Engineer Marco Milani, Director of the Gorno mine, and Dr. Giorgio Tomasicchio, delegated representative of Vedra, brought to the Committee's attention the importance of promoting mining projects that, in line with the objectives of European and Italian strategy on the matter, can contribute to the domestic supply of raw materials widely used by the Italian industry, such as #zinc. Zinc is the fourth most used metal in the world, and it is extensively employed in the #automotive and #renewableenergy sectors, particularly for galvanizing steel to prolong its durability. In #Italy, the average consumption recorded over the last 5 years has been about 212,000 tons, entirely imported. As highlighted during the hearing, the Gorno Zinc project could be a real "trailblazer" in the field of metallic mineral extraction in Italy, but it needs #certainty regarding authorization and administrative timelines to continue to consolidate and attract new #investments, areas on which the decree provides precise solutions. Therefore, Vedra welcomes the new decree with great interest and favor, hoping that its scope of application can be extended to projects like Gorno, which can be #strategic for the country, even for aspects not strictly related to the list of critical and strategic raw materials defined at the EU level. We thank Hon. President Alberto Gusmeroli for the opportunity.

Stelar Metals’ historic Baratta Copper Mine produced #copper ore between 1896 and 1904 from a 1.5 km-long zone of stratabound workings in a structure splaying off the major Bibliando Thrust structure. At least four mineralised horizons of quartz-haematite gossan extend for several kilometres through #SLB’s tenements, coincident with a recently discovered large Induced Polarisation chargeable anomaly as it approaches the Bibliando Thrust.
