Cracker Barrel is tackling a down-home dilemma: It needs to attract younger diners without alienating its older, more loyal clientele. That's a challenge former Taco Bell executive Julie Felss Masino will tackle once she officially becomes CEO in November. The restaurant chain has seen some success with millennials by adding beer, wine, and appetizers and incorporating QR codes. But The Wall Street Journal notes a major portion — 43% — of Cracker Barrel guests are 55 or older, and more innovations could discourage regulars and weigh on revenue growth. Cracker Barrel shares have tumbled by about a third over the past six months, while Olive Garden parent Darden Restaurants has seen a 6% upswing.
