    Unfortunately, this method of food display is a common sight all over Asia. The food are displayed for Hours and Hours till it’s sold without considering about Food Safety, Hygiene and Sanitation. Without proper enclosure, it becomes an irresistable buffet for pests and rodents. Not to mention exposure to foreign materials. Though this particular situation didn’t happen in Singapore or none that was videoed, I’m sure it exist. The relevant authorities are doing what they can but it’s reactive actions. What is required is education, enforcement, accountability and proactive actions to minimize food risk.
