Ironing vs Iron Out Ironing is an activity of making clothes flat and smooth. In order to carry out the act, we do need iron with heated elements. In the picture shown Antique Iron Machine used charcoal as heated objects so that the base of the iron can be placed on top of any clothes by pressing on it to remove crease. . . Iron Out means to solve or settle difficulties or problems. During my working days as employee, usually in a meeting we tends to argue and quarrel over problems need immediate action to solve. Frankly, I hate when it comes to pin point whose who and who will take the blame. Now when I managed my own small business, I implement 360 degrees of assessment reporting when it comes to problem need special attention. Specifically, as a management I will iron out the issue and work with our employee to resolve any problems arise together as a team. . . Have you heard a story about 4 people named : EVERYBODY, SOMEBODY, ANYBODY & NOBODY? I saw these article on a wall of a small clinic in Taman Tenaga Cheras Kuala Lumpur back then in 1995. The story goes like this : There was an important job to be done and EVERYBODY was sure that SOMEBODY would do it. ANYBODY could have done it, but NOBODY did it. SOMEBODY got angry about that, because it was EVERYBODY’s job. EVERYBODY tought ANYBODY could do it, but NOBODY realized that EVERYBODY would not do it. Pay attention may mean pay no attention At the security check at HCM airport before taking flight to Jakarta, I realized I didn’t wear my belt. So I thought I would buy a belt in JKT. Then I saw all the trousers I brought, are not loose at all. Because I gained weight for last several months thus my waist is bigger now. This means I can survive in JKT without belt so no need to buy one. I asked myself how to avoid the same mistake (not wearing belt) in the future. Pay attention? No, how to pay attention? Paying attention itself does not link to any action. My answer is I will try to lose my belly fat (sleep better, more exercise, and eat healthy foods) so that when I wear my trouser it will get loose thus automatically remind me to wear belt, so called Nudge. Another question – Do I need to wear belt? Yes. Because I feel more comfortable when I wear it. Paying attention without follow-up action plan, ironically, can turn out to be not paying attention.
