The ABTT Outreach & Visibility Working Group would like to make you aware of the government's recently launched major review into the National Curriculum. This is our moment in the creative sector to stress the importance of access to the arts and in particular, that all young people receive a well-rounded arts education which includes engagement with theatres and live events venues. A consultation is now live which closes on the 22nd November 2024 and it would be great if as many organisations as possible could respond to the call for evidence. The call for evidence is structured through an online form which contains 54 questions. You can skip the questions that are not relevant and the questions most relevant to our sector is question 31. The survey questions are focussed on the curriculum, assessment, and accountability however question 54 does also give space for more broader / general comments. https://lnkd.in/eahu9CfR #TheABTT #Theatre #ArtsEducation

Thinking about majoring in theatre? Theatre alumnus Kevin Hanley (BA '17) reflects on his experience: "I came to the Theatre Department to study acting. Encouraged to explore every facet of theatre, I acted, directed, wrote, designed, and stage-managed. I was able to find my place in the professional theatre by exploring each discipline. This wide range of knowledge paired with mentorship I received (and still receive) from professors gave me the ability to confidently start my career as a professional stage manager."
