It may not look like it now but interest rates cannot stay like this forever and they will eventually come down. When that happens you want to be prepared to make your move into the market so don’t give up on your savings plan! CIBC Capital Markets managing director and deputy chief economist Benjamin Tal says, "Inflation will be defeated" He also reiterated a point he’s made in previous economic updates – the BoC is contributing to inflation with higher interest rates because housing costs comprise about 30% of the Consumer Price Index. However, all this leads him to conclude interest rates will come down. Soon. “This means that inflation will be defeated. A year from now, inflation will be closer to two per cent, with major implications for the Bank of Canada.” To read more visit: https://vist.ly/q49j #BankOfCanada #HousingMarketImpact #EconomicAnalysis #CIBCCapitalMarkets #BenjaminTal #InterestRateTrends #InterestRateShift #EconomicOutlook #BankingNews #BoCAnalysis #InterestRateNews

You may have heard over the recent years about the outrageous bidding wars. People were spending thousands and thousands over asking to stay competitive and win the bid on the home. This made it even harder for first time home buyers to enter the market. New rules for Ontario real estate came into force Dec 1 2023 that are meant to provide more clarity and choice for buyers and sellers by having the option to use an open bidding process. The open bidding option gives the seller the choice to disclose submitted bid prices to potential buyers, something they were previously banned from doing. Open bidding has been advocated by some as a way to reduce rampant overbidding in real estate and help reduce prices. Like anything, there are pros and cons but it is important to understand what you are agreeing to when you have an open vs closed bid. If you have questions, reach out and I would love to help you walk through the options you have! #BiddingWarsSolution #OntarioHousingMarket #OpenBiddingOption #HousingMarketUpdate #RealEstateInsights #OntarioRealEstate #OpenVsClosedBid
