My Journey: From ICU to 46,000 Miles Around the World🌍 🇨🇭2021 was a transformative year in my life. Spending seven days on the top floor of ICU at the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust cut off from all family and friends, surrounded by medical staff in full protective gear, I battled a relentless fever of unknown origin. This experience propelled me on a path of 😃self-discovery and 🌎global exploration. Here are the key lessons I’ve learned, each reflecting the 🌟essence of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): 1. 💡Health is Paramount (SDG 3): Inspired by Steven Bartlett new book, I realized the importance of listening to and caring for my body. Health truly is our most valuable asset. 2. 💡Balancing Financial and Emotional Rewards (SDG 4): I refocused my efforts not solely on financial gain but on freely offering my professional advice to students and mentees in need, underpinning my dedication to education and SDG4. 3. 🌅The Beauty of Travel (SDG 4.7): Each journey beyond Cambridge has opened my eyes to the world’s beauty and diverse educational needs, echoing the sentiment, “It’s better to travel ten thousand miles than to read ten thousand books.” 4. ✍️Gratitude in All Things (SDG 3): I’ve embraced gratitude and positive thinking, finding value in life’s setbacks. 5. 💕Cherishing Relationships (SDG 3): Prioritizing time with those who bring joy has been vital for my well-being. 6. 🎁Life as a Gift (SDG 3): I’ve learned to cherish every moment and every person in our lives. 7. 🌅Embracing Life’s Lows (SDG 3): Remember, the lows often herald the start of something beautiful. 8. 🎄Living Fearlessly and Purposefully (SDG 3 and SDG 4.7): I’ve learned to live out my purpose suggested by Arthur Brooks new book with courage, contributing to personal well-being and fostering a sense of global responsibility and citizenship. 🏅To those navigating challenging times, you are not alone. We share in this journey together. 🎄Wishing everyone a joyous festive season 🎄. Remember, in every challenge lies an opportunity for growth and a deeper connection with the world.🗺️🌍 #Resilience #GlobalEducation #SDG4 #HealthIsWealth #LifeLessons #SDGMamaMe #TravelTheWorld #Gratitude #FearlessLiving #LinkedInCommunity
