Imagine if your holiday was like a Hollywood movie. Snow falls perfectly (even in places where it never snows), every shop window twinkles with lights, and there’s a 100% chance that every argument, resentment and falling out is fixed and forgotten by December 25. From rekindling old flames to saving the family business, the magic of Christmas makes problems disappear. Everyone makes it home in time for family dinner at a candlelit table despite travel hiccups and crowded airports. Sounds dreamy, right? Spoiler alert: Life is messy, and the holidays are no exception. Chasing perfection is an exhausting and futile endeavor. When Christmas becomes a competition, it sucks the joy right out of the season for everyone. So let go of the pressure to make everything “perfect” and focus on presence over presents. Remember that the most meaningful gifts don't come in a box, and they don't require an extended credit limit. If you really want to create a magical holiday, make people know how important they are to you. Be intentional about making them feel special and loved. Make memories they will treasure. Make kindness and love the centerpiece this year. The rest is just tinsel. Breathe. And look for levity in unexpected places. Like right here... So, if your holiday was a Hollywood blockbuster, what movie would it be? 🎄✨ Share below and take a little time to laugh. #HolidaysWithoutPressure #PerfectlyImperfect #RealLifeHolidays #LetGoOfPerfection

Rugrats Chanukah is our tradition.

🟦 Melissa Hughes, Ph.D. I probably get more messages from people this time of year about rekindling relationships and friendships than any other moment. While messy indeed, there always seems to be some magic in the air that make this the best time of year to let old friends know of their importance, especially if time has slipped away.
