For people across America, our flag is a reminder of our Nation’s founding principle. It stands for the sacred idea that we are all created equal and deserve to be treated equally throughout our lives. Our flag is also a reminder of our shared calling: to stand for the ideals our country was founded on — democracy, freedom, and justice for all. On Flag Day and during National Flag Week, we take pride in the promise and purpose represented by our Nation’s flag. Our country’s flag was created in 1777, when America was still a new idea. Americans flew it at their homes during the Revolutionary War as brave troops fought for our country’s independence from British rule — representing the resolve and resilience of our Nation’s 13 colonies with 13 stripes and stars. As our Nation evolved, so too did our flag — with every new star added to Old Glory, we were reminded that the work of forging a more perfect Union never ends. SOURCE: White House

Memorial Day offers another opportunity to remember more than 81,000 Americans still missing in action from US wars/conflicts (WWII through the Gulf wars). With little media care or attention, the high MIA count surprises many people with realization that each individual in that total had a personal life with hopes, plans and dreams. Yet, each one left the comfort of home, neighborhood and loved ones to defend our homeland and shared values at great personal sacrifice. As I can personally attest, POW/MIA torment runs deep, touches many, and never goes away. Demographic research and basic practical assumptions allow us to reasonably grant that approximately 1.4 million additional people (family/friends) of those 81,000 MIAs have suffered or continue to suffer personal anguish, anxiety, uncertainty, and great pain unknowing the fate. Honoring a foundational US military value that we leave no American behind, there are focused organizations working every day to locate, identify and recover our MIAs. Two of those groups: Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency https://lnkd.in/gVzAc8JA, and, ‘Project Recover’ https://lnkd.in/gQiBF3G7

The difficult truth is that on October 7, the State of Israel failed to uphold the sacred vow of Never Again. The security and military leadership failed. The political and governmental leadership failed. The intellectual and policy leadership failed. In some ways, we as a society failed. We turned legitimate debates into demonization. Security was sacrificed for political posturing. We now have to rebuild. New leadership in the security, military, political and policy realms. New paradigms and strategies. A renewed commitment to unity, mutual responsibility and solving disputes through respectful dialogue, despite continued strong disagreements on key issues. It may take 5 years. 10 years. Maybe more. But it is a critical, sacred mission, in order to ensure for our children that truly, Never Again.

The 4th of July is a time not only for fireworks and barbecues but for deep reflection on the freedoms we enjoy. From the perspective of a Marine, this day resonates with a profound sense of duty and pride. It's a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who came before us, ensuring our ability to live freely and uphold the ideals on which our great nation was founded. Let's honor this day by remembering the courage, commitment, and camaraderie of United States Service Members and Veterans. Every burst of fireworks in the sky reminds us of the fiery spirit of those who fought and continue to fight for our liberty. Wayback at the end of the Civil War, there was a failed movement to create a new country versus re-joining the Union (The Knights of The Golden Circle)... Fast forward to 2024, and the democRAT ancestors of those failed Confederates are merely bringing Mexicicans (and anyone who wants to walk over) to the United States, instead of trying to join forces with Mexico and the Carribean leadership. The really bad news? We'll ALL be slaves, if they succeed. "The primary objective of the Knights of the Golden Circle was to establish a new slaveholding nation, called the "Golden Circle," encompassing parts of the Southern United States, Mexico, and the Caribbean, essentially aiming to expand the territory where slavery was legal by acquiring new territories through military expeditions and annexation, thus bolstering the power of the Southern slaveholding class." ---Smithsonian

US complicity in the Israeli genocide (intentional starving of civilians, removal of people from their homes and the demolition of said homes, targeted bombing of civilians) makes every American guilty of aiding and abetting genocide. Since the US is a democratic state and people are free to change their leaders with every election cycle, the American people cannot claim to have no control over what their politicians do or what they use their military and the US financial and economic muscle to do to other nations. Supplying arms to Israel at one end and air dropping aid at the other end just shows how sadistic and callous the American body politic really is. I know Biden's chances at reelection are poor, but going in the other direction and voting for Trump will be even worse for Palestine. America is a huge country with enormous talent across sectors, I can't and refuse to believe that there are no politicians worthy and deserving of leadership position that the majority of Americans can agree over...! Only when America cleans up its own house can it be an effective force for good in the world. Today, it's just not!

Change is coming. The universe is showing us every day. Israel's genocide and slaughter of 25,000 Palestinian women and children has sent a ripple through the fabric of the universe. Here is American veteran, Josephine Guileau, who spent 17 years in the US military now expressing her direct criticism of Israel and, in her own words, her "corrupt government." If she's courageous enough to state her name in public and speak out, so should all of us.
