For most people, retirement is like an on-off switch. But, for many lawyers, it’s much different. Attorneys often see retirement as a dimmer switch. They’ll start slowly by reducing the number of hours they work and then the number of cases they take on, and eventually, they’ll stop working. So, how can having this 'dimmer' option help you get ahead (or catch up) in your savings for retirement? In our recent video in the Happy Rainmakers series, Niraj Chhabra, CFP, MBA, CLTC, CRPC, a Certified Financial Planner at Sidebar Advisors, explains how this retirement flexibility gives attorneys more options and financial autonomy. Here are just a few of the noteworthy tips that Niraj shared: 1. Plan in Advance: Thinking about your retirement well in advance will give you options and autonomy over your finances and lifestyle after retirement. 2. Diversify Your Taxes: If you wait for all of your money to be taxed on your way out, you’re going to lose a good chunk to the IRS. 3. Factor In Your Lifestyle: When considering your savings goals, it’s important to factor in your retirement. This will ensure that you have enough to maintain the lifestyle you envisioned when you retire. What kind of lifestyle do you envision for yourself after retirement? And what are you currently doing to set yourself up for it? #Retirement #DesignYourLegacy #HappyRainmakers #HappyRainmaker #AttorneyRetirement #MondayMotivation ##### Hi, I'm Jen. ✨ Breaking the "Normal" Mentality Around Retirement Planning ✨ When I think back to my first "lesson" about retirement, it wasn't really a lesson at all. It was a 30-minute sit-down with HR, checking a few boxes, and setting up a 401(k). That was it. No deep conversation, no strategy, no real understanding—just paperwork and a pat on the back. And for so long, that felt normal. 🤔 Not talking about retirement? Normal. 🤞 Crossing fingers and toes that "it’ll all work out"? Normal. 🕰️ Thinking, “Oh, I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it”? Totally normal. But here’s the thing: "Normal" is not working. It’s time to shift from reactive to proactive. Time to step out of our comfort zones, have real conversations about finances, and create a plan that secures not just your future—but your loved ones' futures too. 🌟 I get it—money can be a tough subject. But avoiding it won’t make the challenges disappear. The good news? You don’t have to figure it out alone. Let’s rewrite the narrative. Let's make confidence and security the new normal. 📩 Ready to chat about what that looks like? Whether it’s retirement, saving for your dreams, or building wealth, I’m here to help you take that first step. Let’s do this together. 💪 #ProactiveNotReactive #RetirementReimagined #FinancialFreedom #BreakTheCycle #GenavaGuidance #ReDefineNormal

Planning for Retirement doesn’t mean Stopping.. It means Starting Do you see retirement as the finish line or the starting point? For a long time, I thought of retirement as the time to finally stop working. But the more I talked to people who were approaching it, the more I realized that retirement isn’t about stopping—it’s about starting something new. Whether it’s traveling the world, spending more time with family, picking up new hobbies, or just enjoying more freedom, retirement is an opportunity to live life on your terms. But here’s the catch: You need a plan that lets you retire without worry. That’s when I realized I needed more than just savings or a CPF Life. I needed an income stream that keeps working even when I decide not to. That’s why I started investing in properties that generate monthly cash flow. Now, I’m not thinking about when I can stop working—I’m thinking about how I can design a future that gives me the freedom to do what I want. We need to think differently to secure our golden years: 🥇 Retirement doesn’t have to mean slowing down—it’s a chance to speed up on the things you love. 🥇 Creating passive income is key to retiring with peace of mind, knowing your finances are still growing even when you’re not at a desk. 🥇 Investing strategically means you’re setting yourself up for a life of options, not limitations. Retirement isn’t a full stop—it’s the next chapter. What are you planning to start once you’re free from the daily grind? P.S.: What’s one thing you’ve always dreamed of doing in retirement? Share your thoughts below!👇 #RetirementPlanning #PassiveIncome #LifeOnYourTerms #RetirementGoals #FinancialFreedom
