Freight Industry Welcomes Trump’s White House Return The freight industry has expressed optimism following President-elect Donald Trump's return to the White House, anticipating policies that could benefit the sector. The American Trucking Associations (ATA) congratulated Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance, highlighting the potential for policies that strengthen the supply chain and economy. Key areas of interest for the freight industry include: Regulatory Reforms: Industry groups are hopeful for a rollback of certain regulations. The ATA emphasized the need to replace the Environmental Protection Agency’s electric truck rule with emission standards that are technologically achievable and consider the operational realities of the trucking industry. Tax Policies: Proposed tax cuts are seen as beneficial. Trump's platform includes lowering the corporate tax rate from 21% to as low as 15% for companies manufacturing in the U.S., which could positively impact the trucking industry by favoring domestic products and potentially increasing freight haulage from manufacturing plants. Infrastructure Investment: Trump's advocacy for infrastructure improvements is viewed positively. Investments in repairing roads and bridges could reduce congestion and vehicle wear, enhancing efficiency and safety for freight operations. However, some proposed policies have raised concerns: Tariffs: Trump's plans for a 60% tariff on imports from China and a baseline tariff of 10% to 20% on all imports aim to boost domestic manufacturing. While this could increase domestic freight activity, it may also lead to higher consumer prices and potential retaliatory measures affecting global trade dynamics. Overall, the freight industry is cautiously optimistic, anticipating that the new administration's policies will address regulatory challenges and promote growth within the sector. #FreightIndustry #Logistics #SupplyChain #Trucking #Infrastructure #Manufacturing #RegulatoryReform #TaxCuts #DomesticGrowth #EconomicPolicy #Freight #Transportation #USManufacturing #IndustryGrowth #TradePolicy #TruckingNews #SupplyChainSolutions #FreightHaulage #AmericanTrucking #BusinessNews

🇺🇸🚛 What U.S. President Trump’s Executive Orders reveal about the coming trucking industry changes. President Trump’s new executive orders are set to impact the trucking aftermarket, focusing on tariffs, regulatory changes, tax policy, and USMCA trade renegotiations. 🔹 Tariffs & Supply Chain: Proposed 25% tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada could increase parts costs and maintenance expenses for fleets. This also could lead to a dramatic slow down of cross-border loads. 🔹 Regulatory Rollbacks: Potential freezes on EPA’s greenhouse gas and NOx standards could delay compliance but spark litigation. 🔹 Tax Policy Updates: Revisions to corporate tax rates may impact incentives for emissions compliance and sustainability. 🔹 USMCA Adjustments: Stricter regional content rules could disrupt cross-border supply chains. As the landscape evolves, suppliers and fleets must stay informed and agile to navigate these changes. What are your thoughts on these potential impacts? Let us know below! #TruckingIndustry #AftermarketNews #PolicyUpdates

I have collaborated with automotive industry suppliers to manage tariff costs through strategies such as duty drawbacks. Duty drawbacks allow businesses to recover duties, taxes, and fees paid on imported goods that are later exported or used in the production of exported goods. This approach reduces the impact of tariffs by reimbursing a portion of duties on goods not consumed domestically. 🚛 Important information for all the professionals who activate in Logistics. 2025 will bring important changes in the price quotation of European transports. The Swiss Federal Council has decided that, starting in 2025, the performance-related road tax (FTTCP) for trucks will be increased in the country. This toll is expected to increase by 5% in the coming year. What do you think about this change? #europe #transports #logistics #europeantransport

A new administration and I'm interested to see how this affects the manufacturing space in the US. The previous Trump administration was all about re-shoring; it looks like that Trump 2.0 could have the Senate-House-Executive aligned. An even greater push could be on the horizon - subsidies, tariffs, labor shortages, corporate tax cuts all on the agenda for businesses. Will we be on the brink of a new golden age of Made in America? Interesting article here: https://lnkd.in/eqhXPdYw

Through the plan announced in September, the Biden-Harris administration wants to limit the types of products that can be shipped via de minimis, which exempts shipments of less than $800 from import duties and taxes. Goods the White House is targeting include those covered by Section 201, 232 and 301 tariffs, which would hike costs for companies reliant on low-cost shipping between the U.S. and China.
De minimis overhaul will start before next president: former Biden official

🚚 What Trump's Victory Could Mean for the Global Logistics Industry 🌍 In light of Donald Trump's claim of victory in the US presidential election, the global logistics industry is bracing itself for what this may ultimately mean. While the way ahead is unknown, the likely implications are, nevertheless very clear, from a perspective of both domestic and international supply chains. Key Takeaways from the Potential Policies: 🔋 Oil and Energy A shift to petroleum-based energy policies would also reduce the cost of US trucking and rejuvenate US manufacturing. International shipping and air freight should likewise gain from cheaper oil, but that could get complicated with Trump's tariff strategies. 💼 Tariffs and Trade The commitment of Trump to tariffs strengthens the case for U.S. warehousing and near-sourcing, while the international shipping and air freight business might face hard times. Because Europe is likely to counter the move with its trade measures, regional logistics both in the U.S. and in Europe might be affected differently. 🚗 Automotive Logistics A more gradual move toward electric vehicles in the US might mean more frenetic logistics associated with traditional car production and, by extension, be a shot in the arm for US automotive logistics-and even a spillover positive for European auto logistics. 📉 Tax and Regulation The prospect of tax cuts and deregulation could give domestic trucking, rail, warehousing, and other logistics services a possible windfall, fueling growth and economy in operations. ♻️ Climate and Sustainability A rollback of climate-based policies and programs will hamper global carbon emission efforts but may also lower the shipping and air cargo costs due to reduced green energy subsidies. 📈 Economic Growth Potential Should Trump's economic policies succeed in growing the US economy, domestic logistics may thrive. Tariffs could make international shipping and freight forwarding more unstable. Looking Ahead In other words, US trucking and domestic logistics services are likely to be beneficiaries, whereas global shipping, air cargo, and international freight forwarding may be the losers. There might, however, also be counterbalancing forces: for instance, an economic boom based on deregulation and tax reform may mute some of the negative international influences. How do you think these changes will impact how logistics operations will function over the next few years? #Logistics #SupplyChain #Transportation #USPolitics #GlobalTrade #Shipping #TruckDrivers #EconomicGrowth #Trump #Elections https://lnkd.in/drEXG28k
