We are thrilled to begin our second year of celebrating works in our newest category: Self Tapes.
We know you’ve got stacks of iMovie project files, from auditions past, that are crying out to be shared once more! This category is for celebrating our actors, and we’re so excited to see what you share with us. It also has a super low submission fee, to boot. Winners in this category will get some super cool swag, and prize details will be shared soon!
The important stuff:
Your self tape should be of the same quality as you would submit to a casting director for an audition. Your self tape can be shot with any equipment of your choosing, just ensure you are well lit, and can be heard clearly. Self Tapes must:
- Include a slate, with your name, location, and the role you’re performing (if it is a self tape you are reusing from a previous submission, additional information in your slate is permissible).
- Run between 1-5 minutes each, and be one singular, continuous scene
- Only include scripted dialogue from released films/TVCs/television shows, or your own original work.
The judging criteria include performance appropriate to role, believability, castability, and acting range.
Chookas! (that’s Aussie show speak for break a leg!)
