In 2007, I lost my beloved mom after her 14-year battle with breast cancer. As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I did a personal DNA assessment, just as I do for my clients, and I felt a wave of relief seeing a "slightly lower risk" for breast cancer in my genetic profile. While I remain diligent about regular mammograms and risk-reduction measures, this finding has helped ease some of my fears about breast cancer, the second leading cause of death for women in the U.S. Our current odds are about 1 in 39. To all the survivors: I respect and honor you deeply. I understand how difficult this journey can be, and I know it affects not just you but also your loved ones. 💗 💗 There are steps you can take to help reduce the risk of recurrence, and I’m here to support you through that process.
