The innovation of healthcare technologies in the past decade has enabled healthcare professionals to provide care at home, but maintaining quality and standards has been a challenge, especially for patients undergoing intensive treatment regimens. NEJM Catalyst: Another successful trial of RPM to further move care to the home. https://lnkd.in/eQFeekRR Mayo Clinic colleagues used the technology to further de-risk the home-based care mgmt of oncology patients with febrile neutropenia. Small trial but promising initial outcomes with lower inpatient days, high satisfaction, and lower rate of ICU stay when readmitted. Did you know? Starting this week, mammography facilities in the United States must inform patients whether they have dense or non-dense breast tissue. While dense breast tissue is common, women with dense breasts may be four to six times more likely to get breast cancer, and it can make detection of cancer more challenging. With the FDA’s new breast density reporting regulations, more women will receive important information that may help with earlier diagnosis and facilitate conversations about supplemental screening—like breast ultrasound—and personalized breast care solutions.
