From April 20th to 27th, during the Mensa blood donation campaign "Let's donate blood!", Mensa Croatia will give each new blood donor a free intelligence test. Contact darujmokrv@mensa.hr if you donate for the first-time before the week ends. The campaign aims to attract as many people as possible to become blood donors, and additionally popularize voluntary blood donation as one of the most humane gestures that every individual has the opportunity to express. To conclude, don't forget that a single dose can save three lives, and the only source of that medicine is humans! More information about the campaign can be found at https://lnkd.in/dbwAWVrb https://lnkd.in/dDwj6U68

To all compassionate and kind-hearted friends, kindly help by donating on GPay: +91 9704124194 This is an earnest appeal on behalf of a critically ill patient who is receiving support from Amjadullah Khan, Senior Advocate, through his dedicated social service efforts. We humbly request donations on sympathetic and humanitarian grounds for this family in urgent need. Your support can make a real difference. As the saying goes, "Manav seva is Madhava seva" – serving humanity is serving God. This act of kindness is not just help; it is a service to creation (khidmate khalqi) and, thus, to the Creator (khidmate khuda). If you wish to contribute, please consider visiting the family at Owaisi Hospital to witness their situation firsthand. Every contribution, big or small, will bring them hope and much-needed relief. Donate now on GPay: +91 9704124194 Thank you for your generosity and compassion. Organ, eye and tissue donation saves lives, restores health and improves the quality of life for thousands of Australians each year. But did you know that only 2% of people who die in hospital each year can be considered for organ donation? One organ donor can save the lives of up to 7 people and help many more through eye and tissue donation. So - ask yourself - do you want to save the lives of others once you pass away? If so, have you registered with Donate Life? It only takes a minute - just click on the link to register your interest. #estateplan #estateplanning #estatelawyer #estatelaw

Have a look at HRCI - Health Research Charities Ireland's 2023 annual report! It's really interesting, I promise! It describes all the things we got up to in 2023. If you want to know what the burning issues were in Irish health research in 2023, this is the report to read.
We're excited to share our 2023 Annual Report https://lnkd.in/eEU6W3EH, highlighting a year of impactful health research activities in Ireland. While HRCI has always maintained a focus on Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) in a broad sense, it has become increasingly evident that a specific emphasis on the involvement of charities, such as our member organisations, in research requires additional consideration. In collaboration with the PPI Ignite Network, we created a guide for charity-researcher partnerships, sparking ongoing important discussions. Our Irish Health Research Forum events on research ethics and biobanking drew full attendance and produced valuable recommendations. We also hosted an event on patient registries in partnership with the Cystic Fibrosis Registry of Ireland and developed a guide for establishing and maintaining these registries. In 2023, we partnered with Dr. Nicola Mountford and the HRB to research the HRCI-HRB Joint Funding Scheme, providing key insights into patient-focused research funding. As we crafted our new strategy for 2024-2027, our dedicated team and board worked to ensure it aligns with our members’ needs. We bid farewell to Suzanne McCormack as HRCI Chair and welcome Brian Lynch as the new Chair of our Board. We look forward to continuing our mission together. Thank you to all our partners, members, directors, and staff for your support. Read more in our annual report https://lnkd.in/eEU6W3EH #HealthResearchMatters

Two stats and one question: 1. DC only reserves 4% of its shelter resources for women experiencing homelessness. 2. New Endeavors by Women is a nonprofit dedicated to partnering with homeless women in DC to help them get the resources and support they need to transform their lives. 95% of NEW’s residents transition to permanent housing. 3. Can you join me in supporting NEW’s work as it wraps up its fiscal calendar? https://lnkd.in/e2aPXXwS
Today's #boardtakeover is brought to you by Phim, current NEW Board member and sustaining donor.

Planning for end-of-life care brings peace of mind. 🕊️✨ 1️⃣ Ensure your legal wishes with a will, healthcare directive, and power of attorney. 2️⃣ Document medical preferences with advance directives. 3️⃣ Discuss your wishes with family. Consider whole-body donation with UTN to support medical research. https://bit.ly/3VZgKdM

Under the new Clinical Trials regulations, for the first time it will be a legal requirement to register clinical trials in a World Health Organization recognised public register, and to publish a summary of results within 12 months of the end of the trial. Offering to share trial findings with participants in a timely way, and in language which they can understand will also be required by law. Catriona Manville from the Association of Medical Research Charities gave her reaction to to the regulations being laid before Parliament today.
