"College students are more than just students — they are people navigating life’s twists and turns. While higher education institutions are quick to market the benefits of going to college, too few follow through with structures that support staying in college. A staggering 38% of students drop out, citing the stress of balancing school and work as a leading cause." So very true. In 2023, the top mentee goals in Mentor Collective programs were: - Succeed in classes - Develop a healthy life/school balance - Improve time management skills It's staggering that fewer than half of college students have a mentor, despite colleges being the world's #1 network of social capital. #mentorcollective #mentoringmatters
38% is way too high and I know mentorship can help to drastically reduce that number!
I went to a large university and wish I had had a mentor.
Helping those that invest in digital experiences get more from their investment(s). Helping those that build digital experiences get more from the journey.
3moWe all would have benefited from mentors at that stage of our lives. Up until college, things were relatively linear in terms of what was expected of us and what "succeeding" looked like. Then, you graduate and it's like running off a cliff into a dark abyss - the uncertainty can be suffocating. Glad that Mentor Collective is able to help a lucky few. I wish more could benefit.
