The "mentor" obsession that's doing more harm than good. Not all mentors are created equal: Some may not have your best interests at heart. Mentorship is a two-way street: You need to be willing to learn and grow. You can find mentors in unexpected places: Peers, employees, even customers can offer valuable insights. "A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself." - Oprah Winfrey Don't rely on just one mentor. Build a diverse network of people who can support and challenge you. Even better, join a peer group.

One of the biggest problems today? The youth lacks mentorship. If you’re young and not where you want to be—whether it’s in business or life—ask yourself: Who’s your Northstar? Who sets your direction? As I progressed personally and professionally, I realized: I needed bigger mentors to keep growing. Most people don’t have that kind of guidance—and it shows. If you want to grow, find someone who’s already walked the path. Find a mentor. Then be a mentor. P.S. This is my father—my first mentor. He gave me the values and resilience I’ve built everything on.

A good mentor inspires you, stretches you, connects you, develops your IQ, EQ and AQ, opens your mind and most importantly doesn't judge you. They provide a safe space to 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧, 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 and 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, no matter how stupid the question may sound. #𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 #𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐝𝐈𝐧𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 #𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 #𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 #𝐍𝐨𝐉𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐞 #𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩

Thinking about getting a mentor........................................ Anyone know of any good mentors or people I should speak to that have had a mentor that they recommended??? Heard some people say you shouldn't pay for a mentor and it should be organic. What are your thoughts? Get in my DM's if you have any advise or opinions. Cheers.

✨💡Men.tor.ship: n. the guidance provided by a mentor, especially an experienced person in a company or educational institution.✨💡 . I was asked to lunch by a good friend and colleague of mine Reginald Turner, Ph.D. to catch up. And he made sure to emphasize and make known to me that I was one of his mentors. Now, if you know Reggie you’d know this man is more experienced, more accomplished, more seasoned, and more distinguished than little ole me. My mind couldn’t fathom being considered his mentor. Like how? But when he broke down why he considered me his mentor I understood where he was coming from. Even though I’m younger, I still have certain experiences that add value to others contributing to their well being and excellence. . Mentorship for me is reciprocal, not one sided. Me and Reggie’s relationship is reciprocal; he pours into me and I pour into him, both making the other better. That is the best kind of mentorship. I commend Reggie for being someone who is never too old or experienced to learn, to ask questions, to be better. Him calling me his mentor is him walking that out. We left our lunch, both of us marinating on what the other shared. We both confirmed and affirmed one another, and planted seeds. I’m grateful for relationships like this where there is mutual benefit. . If your mentorship isn’t reciprocal where both parties are being watered, think about how to shift in that direction. I’m not saying a one sided mentor relationship is wrong, I’m saying a reciprocal relationship is better. #SowSeeds #Reciprocity #KeepLearning
