Working during periods means: ✔️Mood swings ✔️Intense pain and discomfort ✔️Fatigue and low energy levels With all this, do you also wonder why we have sick leave but not period leave? It's time to rethink this outdated norm! Periods are monthly and it is out of our control. I tend to take Fridays as 'Flexi' as we have no core hours on a Friday. However, I wanted to make some headway with some requirements. So got up early to make a start and while working away, get the following picture from the wife. So I took a break for some breakfast 🥞😋😋😋 This is just one of the amazing things about a flexible and hybrid working environment. Best get back into some requirements for a couple more hours before starting the weekend. #flexibleworking #requirementsengineering #weekend

What if you were required to take mandatory one week leave after every 8 weeks at work? What if you were punished with a pay cut for working during that week off, even for replying to an email or speaking to a client? Sounds unbelievable? A company called SimpliFlying did just this and created a mandatory leave policy that works for them and as per their statistical analysis, improved productivity, creativity and happiness levels of everyone in the company. The first version wasn't so smooth but after some experimentation and iterations, they modified their policy to remove the roadblocks and problems. For example, - They ensured that minimum two people were a part of a project who can take over when the other person is on leave - People on the same team were not allowed to take back to back weeks off to ensure that there is proper handover for the leave week. - The clients were clearly informed weeks in advance about the policy and the exact time period the person they were working with would be on leave.
