*THE DYING CULTURE THAT NEEDS REVIVAL (3)* One of the major Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) which nigeria aimed to achieve was the eradication of illiteracy among youths. It is so sad to say that our Education system today is the worst it has ever been in our history as a nation today. According to the World Development Report, only about 20% of young nigerians who have completed primary education can read. According to UNESCO'S data, Nigeria illiteracy rate was about 59% among youths and 65% among young adults in 2021. Common entrance cut-off marks are as low as 30 out of 300 in some states. Explaining the disparity between the rising percentage of passes recorded and actual learning outcome. Our children from the primary to tertiary level are been taught from obsolete curriculum that has no bearing with the models of this 21st century. HOW THEN CAN WE COMPETE WITH OUR PEERS FROM ROUND THE WORLD ??? The dying culture that has been demoralizing us and eating us up, must be revived so our present generation of Gen-z's can be able to stand Confidently to do exploit. Our school Education curriculum should be overhauled and modernized to enable our children connect to the outer world. I am once again reminded that nigeria must shift from talk to action. This is the sole duty of the nigerian lectures, teachers and students (seeking for the modernization of our curriculum) for the betterment of this present generation and the generation yet to be born. If we can deploy our voices, influence, intellect and resources to uphold our education and ultimately the future of our nation. A New Nigeria where everybody wish's to eradicate corruption, live in harmony , co-operate and colloraborate intensively, jointly develop and take our country to the standard of a world-class center for excellence, Can be built. The government shouldn't be blame for everything, I believe there are certain things we as a private sector, individuals can do to contribute to the development of a new nigeria. When we all start from where we are standing, using any resources our hand can touch to start building, A New Nationa (cannaan land) will be born...... IT CAN ONLY GET BETTER IF WE START,NOW "AS THE YOUTH WILL ALWAYS BE OUR PRIDE"... #youthdevelopment #nigerians #youth

Visiting Nguli Primary School in Chief Tsabango's area, Lilongwe, Malawi, I was struck by the familiar challenges facing quality education: overcrowding, inadequate teacher numbers, technology gaps, nutrition issues, low parent involvement, and early marriages/teen pregnancies. To achieve Vision 2030 and SDG4, more needs to be done, and quickly. While governments are making efforts, progress is slow. It's time for the private sector to step up and help address these critical obstacles as Education is a fundamental tool for development and equality. Good news! Aflatoun International and the Nepal Federation of Savings and Credit Cooperative Unions Limited (NEFSCUN) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together and empower youth across #Nepal. Through this new #Partnership, we aim to reach 50.000 young people in secondary schools in the country, collaborating with cooperatives as well as with the #Ministry of #Education. A Training of Trainers is already planned to happen soon, to start #TransformingEducation and advance #Social and #FinancialEducation! #JoinTheMovement

At the recent forum hosted by the #AllianceforEducation the discussion focused on the pressing issue of out-of-school children (#OOSC) in Pakistan. #MuslimHands Executive Director Mr. Gillani highlighted alarming statistics from UNICEF and the Government of Pakistan, revealing that 26.2 million children, which constitute 40% of children aged 4 to 16 are still not attending school. This issue extends beyond the Government of Pakistan and demands the collective efforts of all #stakeholders including international and non-governmental organisation’s as well as local communities. #Communityownership and the realization of the importance of education are crucial yet currently lacking. To address this there is a dire need for a comprehensive #strategy and robust guidance. A solid policy #framework is essential, providing clear guidance and protocols to prioritize education and delineate roles and responsibilities among various stakeholders. Several challenges hinder progress, including economic and social barriers.Additionally #climatechange poses a significant threat exacerbating the situation. The #COVID-19 pandemic has also drastically widened the gap in education, further complicating efforts to bring children back to school.
