👊🏻 Punching above 👊🏻 RD3 @nswptc WRAP Qually was wet, we had unroaded greens front and rear, but managed to put the little class E car in P14 out of the 22 car field,, and P1 in class. R1 saw us start with much faster cars behind us, X class, A class, B class, C class and some D class cars, but we punched on and raced hard in changing conditions, we kept a level head and let the faster cars go when needed to maintain P1 in class. R2 was much the same, although some action from the start (probably my worst start in 10 years) saw drop some spots, only to fight back and jump more spots than we lost, but then get swallowed up by straight line speed no matter how hard we tried to defend! R3 - Under Lights, and the rain started again! The first few laps were hectic, but we managed to climb up the ladder and get a P15 outright, passing cars that should be at the front of the field especially in the rain, to end up P15 outright and another class victory, Class pole, 3 wins from 3 starts, a straight car and a massive smile! On a trying weekend we punched way above, as they say, “rain is the great eqauliser”! Super prpud of our little family team and what we continue to achieve with passion and great support! Race 3 first few laps below, the vision wasn’t much better from the eye than the camera! Massive thanks to @bypracing for the short notice and quick turn around to keep us racing, also @tomdoymusic and @sosopunx for coming out and supporting us, my amazing family and all the officials and people that make it possible to go racing! Pure nutty - the wild Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO! In 1989, after a long successful run in the Group B Rally Era and dominating the SCCA Escort Trans-Am Racing Series the previous year, Audi chose to take on a new challenge. They enter the 90 Quattro GTO in the IMSA (International Motor Sports Association) race. The car they sent was special to say the least. It packed a turbocharged 2.2L Inline 5-cylinder making 720 hp. It featured Audi's renowned all-wheel drive system and weighed 2646 pounds (1200kg). The result was a vicious performance that left its mark. Not to mention it might be one of the coolest sounding cars ever made. Audi took second place this season, missing out on the championship by two points. A slow start to the season cost them dearly, but the second half of this season showed how Audi could dial in the car. Winner 5 of their last 7 races. Just not enough to finish the job. A bittersweet ending. However, in 1990 Audi decided to leave IMSA and focus its attention on DTM.
