Why willpower ALONE isn't enough for healthy eating....🫢
***
This weekend, I bought a vegan cake for my brother’s birthday, and everyone kept saying,
“I can’t believe this is VEGAN—it tastes like real cake!”
After 7+ years of being vegan, I’ve learned two truths:
1. If it can be made, it can be made vegan.
2. Just because it’s vegan doesn’t mean it’s healthy. (It’s still cake!)
I took some home and ended up eating a piece every night until it was gone.
Delicious? Yes. A healthy choice? Not so much!

Here's the takeaway:
If you keep unhealthy options around, you’re likely to consume them.
I like to think of myself as rational, disciplined, and overall a healthy eater....
But I also love sweets!! 🍰
The same reason I don't keep social media apps downloaded on my phone (because I'll end up scrolling too much)....
Is the same reason I don't keep unhealthy foods in my kitchen (because I'll eat them) ❌
Don’t bet on willpower; create an environment that supports your goals.
In other words, NO JUNK FOOD IN YOUR KITCHEN!
Hope this helps, keep crushing it.

1moYou hatch, you eat, you grow and in six to seven weeks you are brutally killed. You never see the sun, never feel the soft earth under your feet, never smell the rain, never get to stretch your wings. You are not thought of as a living creature with a brain and the capacity to feel fear, discomfort, pain or anxiety. You are merely a product - one of around sixty billion (60,000,000,000) that will share your fate in the next twelve months. Life in your context is a meaningless concept. You did not ask to be alive, yet you must live in order to die for our Sunday dinner or our next fast food fix…
