🌊 Innovating for a sustainable future in tuna fishing 🐟 We're excited to share a major advancement in tropical tuna fisheries' sustainability, led by ZUNIBAL in collaboration with the AZTI Technology Centre. We've recently begun validation tests on new types of FADs rafts, which include both floating and submerged designs. These innovative FADs rafts are made from a bio-based, compostable material, paving the way for sustainable fishing practices. 🌐 Our initial tests are taking place at the Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC) Achotines Laboratory facilities in Panama, with further tests in real conditions across the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. This dual approach will help us evaluate the effectiveness of these new materials in different marine environments.
