As we approach the end of another quarter, here are some of the key points we have been noticing on the market since the turn of the year. 1- Significantly more projects have kicked off or in the pipeline compared to 2023. 2 - Candidates are still available and looking for new opportunities... if you have the ability to hire, now is the time to take advantage of a strong candidate pool. 3- Short term contracts are on the rise - A number of clients are offering 3/4 month contracts to get them through to FY25, these do have potential for extensions once new budgets are approved. 4- FY25 is going to be big. We anticipated the market to pick up around Feb/March 2024 which it has, however the sounds were hearing are that this is going to continue to rise and once budgets are approved we think there will be a big demand for talent. Tips for clients would certainly be to reduce that time to hire as much as you can and if you find good talent that is available on the market, now is the time to move on them. I would urge candidates to be patient, things are getting better and while people might be burnt from a difficult year last year, the tide is turning and FY25 is looking promising. #jobmarket #sapmarket #hiringtips

Pacific Talent Partners has conducted multiple ERP Implementation searches over the past 12 months across #ASX listed, privately owned and #PrivateEquity backed environments. I would love to share a snapshot of the current “ERP Specialist” market: ◼ 912 profiles of ERP Implementation Specialists within Australia (Sydney - 297 & Melbourne 300 respectively): ◽ 19.9% have transitioned to new roles within the past 12 months. ◽ Notably, 46% of this talent pool comprises female professionals. ◽ The median tenure across the talent pool stands at 1.8 years. The key insights I've gathered firstly dictate that the supply of these specialists is very low, and hard to find. Active roles for this skill set remain relatively healthy, which indicates that these professionals are highly sought after. Fascinatingly, 46% are female, which is a much higher percentage compared to the CFO position. (71% male, 29% female). These figures highlight the importance of building a strong executive network, as an accomplished ERP specialist is very hard to find! Leaving an industry, you knew for 23 years was a feeling like you get when sitting at the top of a roller coaster looking down and getting ready to go fast and not knowing what is around the next corner but knowing things will be ok. I spent 23 years in the HCM space (20 @ ADP & 3 at Smartlinx) ADP gave me the foundational knowledge I was searching for across all segments, while Smartlinx afforded me the opportunity to get my feet wet outside a large corporation in a small revenue private equity backed organization. I felt all the emotions when you try something new. I was nervous, scared, but mostly I felt excited to learn something new. I get a lot of DMs on the topic of leaving a large organization or the HCM industry. I thought I would consolidate and share in case you are looking to make a career change. 1: What is Blue Ridge Global? We are a supply chain planning software. 2: What is supply chain planning software? We provide data that empowers organizations to make the right buying / purchasing decisions, so they have the right amount of inventory at the right place at the tight time so the consumer can buy it. In addition, we make sure you don’t have too much inventory. Too much inventory means you have cash tied up in inventory and with 90+ pct of businesses in our country operating on credit that impacts the bottom line as cash is expensive today. 3: Are you a SAAS model? Yes, and this was important to me when I was exploring opportunities. 4: Is your solution an investment or a positive ROI and if positive soft or hard dollar savings? We are a hard dollar ROI in year 1 and typically with a 10-20X return. I tell prospects that we rely less on art and more on science (data) to empower your teams to be better at their jobs. What I have learned in the first 6 months is that our clients / prospects have talented people managing the supply chain process. However, to truly unlock one’s potential you need to empower them with tools / information and that is what we do. 5: Is there a lot of competition? A lot, no, there are other companies that operate in the supply chain software space. With that said 80% of the market is un-vended, which means they do it themselves or part of it in an ERP. This means there is a tremendous opportunity to help organizations and provide a very nice ROI, which means you get prioritized over other projects. 6: What was the most important factor you look for in a company you are considering working at? For me it isn’t about the tech, the ROI or anything like that. It is 200% about the people. If you have great people, you will have an amazing business. The people are what make up the business. I am very fortunate to work not only with an a fantastic pe firm, board and ELT @ Blue Ridge but the culture here is the best I have ever been a part of, and the entire organization is fantastic.
