It’s the Westminster Political System. Based on Opposition, it fosters acrimonious debate where ‘the opposition’ is in fact ‘the obstruction’. There is nothing positive about it, unless the governing party has a secure majority with sufficient runway ahead to even dare to do anything that is by the people, with the people, for the people. Mostly, both parties have their eye firmly fixed on the next election & either retaining power, or gaining power. Our parliaments are riddled with lobbyists who write policy for their masters & hold our country to ransom with rivers of money which make sure that the casino, called the stock market, is making the rich get richer, while the poor get poorer (the modern word is inequality). This is not democracy - the modern word is ‘managed democracy’, or perhaps plutocracy? And, the extinction of the planet is irrelevant to them.

🌟 **Finding Gratitude in the Simple Things** 🌟 We have been holidaying in the NT for the last 3 weeks and travelling the beautiful Northern Territory in Australia. We stopped at camping site called George View and was deeply moved by a story shared by Manuel, an Aboriginal man from the Northern Territory. Manuel’s journey is a powerful reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the beauty of appreciating the simple things in life. Manuel recounted times when he would walk for days with little or no food, sleep on the ground, and endure the extremes of cold nights and scorching days. Despite these hardships, he now finds joy in the basic comforts many of us take for granted: a home, a roof over his head, and food in his belly. Manuel’s story doesn't end with survival; it blossoms with celebration. He plays the didgeridoo and sings songs that tell the rich stories of his country, the landscape, and his people. His music and tales are a testament to his heritage and a gift to those who listen. Listening to Manuel reminded me to pause and reflect on the simple blessings in my own life. Let's take a moment today to appreciate the roof over our heads, the food on our tables, and the stories that connect us to our roots. Thank you, Manuel, for sharing your journey and inspiring us to find gratitude in simplicity. #NorthernTerritory you have certainly nailed tourism and unbelievable experiences.
