Our wish for today goes out to all the people in our Group.
Before being technicians, designers, plumbers, electricians, draughtsmen and engineers, we are people who set goals, collaborate and work hard every day on the important and challenging projects we have. To all of them our thanks for who they are.
Happy 1st May to us all!
In building a house, you have carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and drywall installers to name a few. Each has a skill and knows how to use it for the benefit of all. The same is true for your team. Identify the skills of each person and set clear roles, expectations and goals for each one, while making clear that all individual goals are consistent with the goals of the team.
In building a house, the project manager will establish the communication plan, the decision-making process, meeting frequency, conflict resolution procedures and clear standards of performance. The same is true for you in building the right team.
Have you ever wondered how to coordinate a site with 50 operatives all working at once?
Today, I’m giving you an inside look at our bustling project where electricians, plasterers, painters, plumbers, and decorators are all in action, working together to bring this development to life.
Key Points Covered:
With around 50 operatives on-site, it’s a hive of activity, with trades carefully moving through the units, ensuring no one gets in each other’s way.
Getting the scheduling and programming right is crucial. Every step has to be planned meticulously to maintain efficiency and keep the project moving at maximum speed.
The electricians are cleverly hiding the spotlight cables, threading them through the roof and ensuring everything is set for the final fit-out.

Architects should respect their knowledge and skills. Why offer free site visit, free consultation ,and most importantly FREE design.
The animation is an output from our designer based on our discussion on how to solve the roof joining issues between existing structures and new structures. To aid the communication to our vendor and workers, this output is needed so that everyone will be on the same page. Looks easy but it is not. You need a certain set of critical thinking, precision, computer skills, and imagination to do this. Kudos to my team.
On the other hand, please STOP treating creative people and technicians (contractors, carpenters, wireman, plumbers, etc) as third rated population as their well being, time, effort, self value is non-existent. Some people think that it's their entitlement for FREE visits, consultations, etc.
Are you willing if someone asks you to come over 120km driving to their place (2 ways), spend 1 hour attending to your queries, then do all preliminaries communication with various parties, spend hours to analyze your requirements, get related documents and months later the outcome is ' still in discussion', do all these for FREE?. Can you.

Did you know you don't need a qualification to call yourself an Oak Framer?
Besides plumbers and electricians, this is true of most trades. A person can call themselves a member of whichever trade they wish, without an official qualification.
𝙸𝚂 𝚃𝙷𝙴𝚁𝙴 𝙰 𝚃𝚁𝙰𝙳𝙴 𝙱𝙾𝙳𝚈?
No, there is no trade body to protect the rights of people purchasing oak frames.
𝚆𝙷𝙰𝚃 𝙰𝙱𝙾𝚄𝚃 𝙱𝚄𝙸𝙻𝙳𝙸𝙽𝙶 𝙲𝙾𝙽𝚃𝚁𝙾𝙻?
Building Control checks that specifications are correct, but not the quality.
They don't check that what was specified is what you get, only that the specs were right to begin with.
𝚆𝙷𝙰𝚃 𝚀𝚄𝙰𝙻𝙸𝙵𝙸𝙲𝙰𝚃𝙸𝙾𝙽𝚂 𝚂𝙷𝙾𝚄𝙻𝙳 𝚈𝙾𝚄 𝙻𝙾𝙾𝙺 𝙵𝙾𝚁?
You should look for qualifications that have third-party ratification.
A credible carpentry qualification and a track record of producing frame buildings is ideal for an oak framer.
For a manufacturer, ISO 9001 or an equivalent manufacturing certification.
It's worth noting that ISO 9001 is about the process, not the quality.
The only third-party qualification we know of that currently certifies for quality and process is the BM TRADA Q-Mark.
We are the only oak framer to hold a TRADA Q-Mark certification, meaning we are the only quality certified oak framer.
If you would like proof of your TRADA Q-Mark qualification, we are happy to give it to you.
