Invi Air Diffusers - Minimal Visibility. Before Custom Match & After. Invi Air designs its products to have a minimal visual footprint, striving to blend in with the overall design of the space they’re installed in, we try to keep a low profile in every possible way. This fancy-looking ceiling must have cost a fortune to design, yet, leaving that “black hole” of an AC grille was overlooked as if it weren’t there. For a tiny portion of that fortune an Invi Air non-metal, sleek-slot, air diffuser blends into the ceiling’s design seamlessly while avoiding future condensation and mold. #Architecture #InteriorDesign

In the world of architectural lighting, understanding color rendering goes beyond just CRI (Color Rendering Index). While CRI is a crucial factor, it’s not the only one. Factors such as R9 values, TM-30-15 metrics, and the specific needs of the space play vital roles in achieving the perfect lighting design. In short, R9 measures how well a light shows bright red colors. This is important for making colors look vivid and natural, like in stores or art displays. TM-30-15 is a system to judge light quality: - Rf (Fidelity Index): Tells how true colors look under the light. - Rg (Gamut Index): Shows if colors appear more colorful or dull. These metrics offer a more complete picture of a light source's color rendering capabilities, enabling designers to create superior lighting environments. #codelumen #lightingdesign #lightingdesigner #architecturallighting #lighting #architecture #cri #beyondcri

Have you ever noticed little human figures enhancing architectural drawings or models? Turns out, these aren't just decorations, they're called counting figures and serve a couple of cool purposes. Imagine a giant doorway with no one standing next to it. Seems big. Figures provide a reference point, helping us understand the size and scale of a building or space. Seeing a person walk through that doorway tells us instantly, "Hey, that's a pretty big entrance!" Buildings can feel cold and empty without people. figures add a touch of humanity, showing us how spaces are meant to be used. See those tiny folks lounging in a park? It instantly refers to images of picnics, laughter, and sunny days. Sometimes, figures are purely decorative. Think intricate sculptures or playful painted silhouettes. They add visual interest and storytelling to a building, creating a unique atmosphere and maybe even hinting at its history or cultural significance. But hey, technology is moving fast! Today, architects have other ways to show scale and bring spaces to life, like using special lines, grids, or even virtual reality experiences. So, next time you see those little people in a building, remember, they're not just there for show! They're helping us understand, connect with, and appreciate the amazing world of architecture. #architecture #design #scale #creativity #funfacts

Custom patterns can be a real boon to designers, but they can also be daunting. These questions can help make sure custom patterns go smoothly.
Before you start designing with custom patterned glass, make sure to ask yourself these eight questions: 1. What role will the patterned glass play in my building’s aesthetic? 2. How will the glass influence the daylighting strategies for my project? 3. What kind of visibility do I want through the glass? 4. What kind of energy performance do I need? 5. Am I trying to meet any bird deterrence targets? 6. What’s my project timeline? 7. What’s my budget, and how much will I spend on patterned glass? 8. How much patterned glass do I need, and where? Start your project on the right foot. Learn about these questions and more in our latest blog article, available at https://lnkd.in/du-w-c98 // #WalkerTextures #etchedglass #acidetchedglass #patternedglass #architecturaldesign #daylighting #energyefficiency #birdsafe #birdfriendly #birdfriendlyglass #customglass #buildingmaterials #interiordesign #architecturalglass #glassarchitecture #architecture

Read article: https://lnkd.in/gRXdVZNu "To many, design means having an idea, and the purpose of a process is to create a product that's as close to the idea as possible, bridging the gap between reality and 'the mind's eye.' To me, however, the aim is 'refinement'. The design process is a quest of problem-solving; it's about considering the product's sustainable value, ergonomic elements, how it can be disassembled, and how it will last and age." – Ross Gardam. --- #unios #universallight #magazine #architecturemagazine #designmagazine #architecture #lighting#architecturepublication #lightingdesign #lightingdesigninspiration #celebratelight #lightingapplication #lightapplication #lightinginspiration
