What happens when the market becomes overly saturated and audiences overwhelmed by the fast communication and interaction? Boredom installs. Hence in the future high-end fashion brands will have to reinvent the approach and come up with new ways to: 1. Entertain 2. Delight 3. And well...sell the product. 👠 Let's consider the #WOWFactor Maison Margiela fashion show generated just a few weeks ago by taking us on a visual trip: a beautiful story-telling journey going back in time exploring the era of Les Miserables, Toulouse Lautrec, La Belle Epoque ... Prior to the show a beautiful short-film created in collaboration with another creative genius: Oscar-winning movie director Baz Luhrmann set the done for a show that would leave audiences in awe. The show was highly spoken about for weeks specifically because it wasn't a fashion show per se: it was movie, art, speak easy, music, theater and ...fashion. Spoiler alert I recently (amongst millions of viewers) binge-watched Season 4 of Netflix's "Emily in Paris," and beyond the never-ending drama, poorly - and cringy - pronounced French, and never-ending love triangles, one thing did stand out to me: “Quiet Luxury”. Representing the fictional brand Umberto Muratori, Quiet Luxury embodies everything Emily isn’t – subtle, classy, and approachably fashionable. It’s understated elegance versus flashy ‘look at me!’ style. Represented by the fictional brand Umberto Muratori (and Emily’s latest love interest), Quiet Luxury captures the essence of subtle, classy, and approachable fashion. Inspired by real-life brand Brunello Cucinelli, it’s clear that today’s consumers are shifting towards this style. The era of bold prints and oversized logos is behind us. Instead, we welcome understated elegance—fashion that speaks to quality and craftsmanship without the need for flashy displays. "Emily in Paris," love it or hate it, influences the fashion world. It's refreshing to see the show's portrayal of Marcello Muratori embracing the values of understated luxury. This isn't about global domination but about understanding the true meaning of luxury.
