Today’s Metal Composite Material (MCM) retains its luster for decades, ensuring that the building maintains its aesthetic appeal and property value for the long term. Facilities clad with high-tech MCM systems retain curb appeal, often reducing the need for refurbishing costs. New Case Study 📑 Complexities of Curved Facades 🔍 Located in St. Kilda, Melbourne, the Paula Fox Melanoma Cancer Centre demonstrates a practical application of advanced fire safety in architectural design. More than 1000 glass panels, each up to 700kg, this building poses some unique fire safety challenges: - ⤵️ Curved Glass Facades: The unique shapes of curved facades create gaps that standard firestopping methods can’t easily seal, challenging the containment of fire and smoke. - 🔥Beyond Fire: The building’s design has to also address not just fire safety, but also the impacts of movement, air leakage, and acoustic performance for a comfortable, and energy-efficient environment. What is the solution? ✅ Siderise Group CWFS, was chosen for its ability to meet the project’s stringent requirements. Siderise CWFS (Curtain Wall Fire Stop) systems are a proven means to protect the slab edge perimeter behind a glazed curtain wall for spread of fire, smoke, air and sound. The fast, clean and dry system also allows for building movement between the slab and curtain wall, meeting NCC requirements for structural and thermal building movement in C2.6. When the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) started its expansion, it reached out to specialists willing to bring the noted Swedish architect, Peter Zumthor, vision to life. G&G Door Products was vetted for the project and reached out to Stainless Doors. Nouly Dimitropoulos, Vice President for Stainless Doors, shared that all the engineering for the doors was reinvented. Called a “floating door,” it has no frame and the closing mechanism is internal and located at the bottom. With a finished concrete doorway, there is zero-tolerance — no margin for error. The thickness of the door can not be machine bent, so Stainless Doors craftsmen did the work by hand. Also part of the design and fabrication considerations is the myriad of state and local regulations to ensure safety, security, and functionality. Stainless Doors, a division of EMJAC Industries, Inc., has a reputation for creativity, practicality, and superior quality. They have an “if you can imagine it, we can build it” attitude. What’s the most challenging project you’ve ever worked on? #StainlessDoors #50YearsOfExcellence #QualityCraftsmanship

The modular main façade stands out with cubic elements that double as planters, interconnected by semi-curves that bring fluidity and dynamism from multiple perspectives. The secondary façades balance the ensemble with a dynamic interplay through the careful arrangement of solids and transparencies. https://lnkd.in/emey7mDV

The new building of the Danish School of Media and Journalism (DMJX) in Copenhagen is an example of an environmentally conscious approach to the architecture of modern educational spaces. For the façade, our TECTURA Coated aluminium was used, made from the recycling-friendly alloy 3005 with a 40% external scrap content. The sheets were produced in our rolling mill in Holmestrand, Norway. Using a perfected coil coating process, the rolled aluminium was coated with a weather and UV-resistant paint in “Spicy Red” during the manufacturing process. This project highlights the potential of aluminium in architectural design. Learn more about our latest case study: https://lnkd.in/euNtaXPf #redefinethelimits #inspeiradbyaluminium

Angel Ayon, is presenting a case study using vacuum insulated as a test, at Facade Techtronics World Congress today. Synergy NA is proud to have supplied the VIG for this project, which is the first use of VIG in a Landmark. As Local law 97 kicks in Synergy NA is looking forward to utilizing available allocation for retrofits, meeting Local Law 97 codes. As a monolithic IG unit,. 6.3mm weighs in at 3.5 LBS sq ft, and provides R10 insulation with double silver soft coat Low-E on #2. When further fabricated into a hybrid or composite unit performance is better than triple pane IGU. Angel Ayon, one of the worlds top architects who wrote the book on conservation and preservation glazing. Our team provides the most advanced glazing solutions, which offer the fastest ROI.
