I help vision- focused businesses and organisations elevate their brands through social media|| •Doctor of Optometry Candidate|| •Freelance Blogger and Writer
I want to clear the air!😩 So, I've had several encounters with people where I get asked about my programme of study, I mention Optometry, and they go all like, "And you are wearing glasses?" or even "What makes you think you can save me when you can't save yourself?"😂 This might seem ironic, but it actually does happen.😂 Now I want to know how different this is from telling a pharmacist or a doctor not to take meds when they are sick or perhaps a chef not to have a taste of their own food when need be😅 Even though eye doctors are experts in vision care, let's remember they're not really the #Superhumans we see them as. Needing glasses or contacts doesn't mean the new specialist you met that day is #bad at their job or not good enough. It's just a normal part of life. It's like how you might wear glasses to see from a distance, read your favorite book, or protect your eyes from the sun. Plus, it could be that your eye doctor is wearing blue light glasses for longer screen hours or even wearing glasses because of old age - just like many people do! P.S: When next you see a student or specialist wearing glasses, don't be too quick to pull away. We are protecting our eyes just like you are!😂 P.P.S: Comment YES or NO if you are guilty of this and let's hear your story too if you are a victim!😊 #EyecareStoryteller #EyecareWriter #OptometryJourney #WomenInScience

Did you know, that there are nearly 10.000 #missingpersons casedzin #Germany? Most of these cases get solved in a few days, with only 3 % being unsolved. In countries like Mexico it's over 50.000 people but in these cases they can not be identified. Why do I write about it? I was amazed by the number of tattoos I saw on my last trip and made a little #research and found this interesting article (https://lnkd.in/eeq3F88C) about the classification of #unknownbodies via their #tattoos in Mexico. Franziska Holz et al. from the Goethe-Universität Frankfurt introduced an easy classification system of motives and body region. Introduction of this kind of #dataclassification internationally could be a major step for finding missing persons.
