If you are interviewing a candidate for an #analyst position, try to work the term "choropleth" into the discussion. If he/she knows what that is, you have found the right person to hire. (Tip for candidates - works the other way as well, although your new company may not know the term. "Choropleth" is the new "orthagonal.")

Rejection emails are OK. Hear me out. I apply to these positions after thorough research. When its transparent, I check out the principle and orbiting team members. I look for my contemporary EAs to see what their career history is like. I check out the company on Glassdoor and other review sites. If the job description mentions a new software I look that up and familiarize myself. I also check out the office location to make sure my commute is reasonable. I'm not randomly or blindly just clicking Apply. So when I do get a rejection, albeit an automated one, I know that I can take them off my spreadsheet, my radar and move on.
