Sprouts is going BIG with 35 SMALL stores. This comes as Walmart and Target push to go bigger. In fact many retailers are going bigger this year. customers expect two-hour delivery. That means more options, closer to the customer. Sprouts is well aware of the growth of Q-Commerce. But here’s what they’re hoping to accomplish with these smaller stores: 1. Streamlined curations. Fewer options, curated for the local demographic. 2. Better technology. Better checkout and digital signage, but lower quantities. 3. Reduced labor, energy, and other operating costs. 4. Reduction of lower performing SKU’s, such as center of store. 5. Use of the “Treasure Hunt” curation model. (Think TJ Maxx.) So no, no doom and gloom here. Sprouts sales were up 9.1% in Q1, YoY. One thing smaller formats does mean is fewer SKU’s. Brands invested in Sprouts may want to take a hard look at their velocity as these formats grow. ——— 🔹Driving retail velocity in Kroger, Whole Foods, Albertsons, Costco, Walmart, Sprouts, and More 🔹DM me or book an appointment for help! #ecommerce #retailmedia #retailvelocity #retail #cpggrowth #instacart #cpg #tradespend

Interesting article highlighting several retailers that are creating events like "halfway to Halloween" or hyping up days like the "May the 4th be with you" to drive sales. Really smart! #may4th #retail #retailmarketing

Circana’s Krista Marino shared exclusive insight with @Progressive Grocer about the ongoing significance of in-store displays for grocers. Despite a notable decrease in display numbers—averaging 10 lost displays per grocer since pre-pandemic times—they remain pivotal for effective consumer communication, providing value, and meeting shoppers’ needs. Walmart has launched Brand Stores (a few weeks ago) and so of course Russell Stover Chocolates had to be the first candy brand to get in on the action! Similar to another certain major online retailer, brand stores can be accessed by clicking the brand name on the PDP, and also from brand-led search ads launched through Walmart Connect. 📦Showcase entire portfolio - drive NPD or higher AOV. 📦+36% impressions linking #ads to brand stores (AMZ). 📦+21% repeat visitors to updated brand stores (AMZ). 📦Opportunity to merge 1P and 3P assortment. Whilst the customisation and functionality has some opportunities to go further, these developments should happen very quickly given Brand Stores on any platform are an opportunity for higher weight of purchase, and for retailers to encourage brands to spend #digitaladvertising dollars on driving traffic. Given the above, the opportunity for brands is pretty clear. What do you think? Kayla Fischer, Zach Harmeyer, #Walmart #RetailMedia #BrandStore https://lnkd.in/gJypMd4Z

Is CostCo the new Walmart…or is it just Hotdogs and Loo roll? Walmart struck gold with its retail media business, raking in a whopping $3.4 billion last year from its e-comm platform alone. Now, all eyes are on Costco to see if they can replicate that success as they launch their beta. With over 73 million paid members - that's more people than the entire population of France! - Ohh la la! Costco has a massive captive audience that brands would kill to reach and let's not forget their rapidly growing e-commerce sales, which could be a goldmine for advertising spend. But is it all hot dog combos and huge TV’s…..there are a few hurdles Costco needs to clear first: 🤺 Competition: Walmart and other retail giants are already dominating this space, so Costco needs to bring something unique or drive more value to stand out. 🏗️ Infrastructure: Building a robust retail media platform isn’t cheap or easy. Costco might need to invest in some serious tech and data analytics firepower (but I know they already have an awesome base with Circana) 🔒 Privacy Concerns: Customers value their privacy like they value those giant tubs of peanut butter. Costco needs to tread carefully to maintain trust whilst proving a credible value exchange 🤼♂️ Supplier Tensions: Introducing advertising could ruffle some feathers with existing suppliers, especially if certain brands get preferential treatment. Despite these challenges, the potential rewards could be juicier than pallet of strawberries for Costco to ignore. If they can crack the retail media code, they could be swimming in those pools they sell. What do you think? Did you spot all the CostCo shopping references? E-Grocery will outpace retail by 3x thru 2023. That’s after 19% growth in 2022. And 18% growth in 2023. If you don’t know what e-grocery is, it’s… -> 3rd Party Delivery (Instacart) -> 1st Party Delivery (Walmart Spark) -> Curbside Pickup (Target Drive Up) -> In-Store Pickup (Sam’s Club Pickup) Its customers who shop digitally. For retail fulfillment. So if you haven’t been paying attention… Targeting these shoppers drives retail velocity. The competition will be coming in hot this year. Use it or lose it. ——— 🔹Driving retail velocity in Kroger, Whole Foods, Albertsons, Costco, Walmart, Sprouts, and More 🔹DM me or book an appointment for help! hashtag #ecommerce hashtag #retailmedia hashtag #retailvelocity hashtag #retail hashtag #cpggrowth hashtag #instacart hashtag #cpg hashtag #tradespend
