Last week, Dima Goncharov and Colin Elsinga had the privilege of speaking at YC's Startup School 2024, sharing the founding story of Metriport with an audience of future founders. The theme of the talk was why adopting an "Explorer's Mindset" is crucial to getting started, as there will be many challenges, learnings, and pivots along the way. Today we’re introducing our open-source FHIR Converter API, as well as the launch of our new OSS Slack community 🚀 A key piece to achieving true interoperability is compatibility between different data formats. For too long, closed-source healthcare IT vendors have kept their secrets hidden behind black box solutions, forcing builders to reinvent the wheel every time they need do something as universal as standardizing legacy data to modern formats such as FHIR. After finding no good solution on the market, we built our own FHIR converter in-house, and today we're announcing it as a standalone product.
