Raytheon successfully completed a Delta Design Review for the Advanced Electronic Warfare (ADVEW) prototype. The system is being developed for the US Navy's F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet and will integrate 6th generation capabilities into the aircraft and improve survivability and long-term sustainability. Defense One recently reported that the U.S. Navy has integrated the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) aboard aircraft carriers, boosting pilot training with realistic scenarios. Initially designed for F-35 evaluation, the JSE is now used at sea to replicate complex conditions hard to achieve in daily operations. Meet the Ghost Shark Extra Large Autonomous Submarine (XL-AUV) 👻 🦈 Ghost Shark is being jointly developed and funded by a partnership between Defence Australia and Anduril Industries, and will become Mission Zero for the Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA). Ten Australian companies including Advanced Navigation have partnered with Anduril to be ready for the manufacture of Ghost Shark, and will provide the Royal Australian Navy with a stealthy, long-range autonomous undersea warfare capability that can conduct persistent intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and strike. It will also enhance Navy’s ability to operate with allies and partners. The Ghost Shark will form part of the Government’s investment of up to $7.2 billion for the development and acquisition of subsea warfare capabilities and new autonomous and uncrewed maritime vehicles. The Government is spending more than $10 billion on autonomous and uncrewed systems, including armed systems, as part of a comprehensive plan to provide the ADF with capabilities it needs to meet strategic circumstances. While we are facing crisis in US Navy ⚓️ capital ship deployment due to budget overruns and shipbuilding capacity bottlenecks, we still have the ingenuity of #American 🇺🇸 people. Anduril Industries is ahead of schedule and on budget with its autonomous submarine prototype called Ghost Shark for the Royal Australian Navy. Industry 4.0 can provide scalable production capacity producing at pace and on budget ships that we so desperately need for deterrence against foes, especially #China and its appetite for #Taiwan🇹🇼. The #Ukraine 🇺🇦 war proved that capital ship fleets are vulnerable in closed areas (well it was a true since aviation and missle systems), whipping out the #Russian 🇷🇺Black Sea 🌊 fleet. Additionally, #Houthis controlling access to the Suez Canal via power projection into Red Sea powered by #Iranian 🇮🇷 missiles, is another revolution in Naval Warfare that was addressed by Admiral James Stavridis in Bloomberg article below. https://lnkd.in/eapVUtHB SSBN are irreplaceable - we need a fully manned submarine with the deadliest weapons on earth - no question, but we need also conventional and disposable force that can force blockade on China without large human loses - which we value while the other side has some to spare like Russians do. The only way to do it is to go full in into autonomous systems and scalable productions utilizing cost effective and time predictive technologies.
