Unfortunately, I was unable to attend this year's Nada conference, which took place in South Africa, Johannesburg, on March 25, 2024. However, Manny de Canha's keynote address quickly gained traction, and what resonated with me the most was the nostalgia it evoked regarding the traditional methods of selling cars. It reminded me of the simplicity inherent in achieving success as a dealer. The fact that a speaker of Manny de Canha's stature delivered a keynote brimming with practical and time-tested solutions suggests that many of these strategies remain relevant today. In our enthusiasm to embrace technological advancements and cater to the evolving preferences of different generations, we may have overlooked the fundamental essence of car sales: the productivity and interpersonal skills of our Sales Executives. A discernible disparity exists between our top-performing Sales Executives, who consistently outshine their peers even in challenging times, and the rest. On closer examination of their daily routines, several key practices stand out: 💡 Prioritise making sufficient interactions with new prospects each day. 💡 Actively seeking out clients rather than solely relying on leads provided by the dealership. 💡 Demonstrating discipline and systematic follow-up with clients. 💡 They spend time face-to-face with each new client 💡 They use technology to manage their own database effectively 💡 They don't get caught up in the noise and negative talk These observations underscore the enduring importance of the Sales manager and their expectations of Sales personnel daily. Let's reestablish a culture where our sales team focuses on its core purpose: connecting with and serving new customers every day. #leadership #innovation #sales
